I went to a local farmer's market today and I saw a seller selling some Mattel WWE figures. His prices were outrageous for instance the 2 pack with Matt Hardy and The Great Khali was $25. BTW that was 4 all 2 packs. Also $20 for the Hurricane. I had to pass up on all of them because I don't pay over $15 for a basic figure. Those were the only figures I asked the prices on. You're supposed to great good deals on stuff like this at a farmers market not eBay seller prices.

Wow, those prices are just crazy. Better luck next time. I ended up buying a Jakks ECW Snitsky from another seller for $8. I talked him down from $15.

this may be a dumb question but what exactly is a farmer's market? i've heard of them but never really knew what they were. I always assumed they were either like fresh produce markets or a place where you can get like gardening supplies.

MOC stuff is always way marked up if its new, and if its something old and moc they usually won't research and will be charging $30 or something for a 1999 bca 2 pack. Stupid stuff like that. The only time I've ever gotten deals at flea markets is for loose BCA and Hasbro figures.

I always assumed they were either like fresh produce markets or a place where you can get like gardening supplies. Generally, farmer's markets are once a week in open-air downtown in a city and people put up tents and sell locally grown and other produce. Fruits, vegetables, maybe handmade fudge, sweets, or baked goods. In addition, there are food vendors you can have from (right there). You can also find people selling things you'd find in a flea market. Local businesses also promote there.

Guy probably bought them at a retail store. He's not going to sell them to you for $5.00. I don't see the problem really.
You're saying you don't pay over $15 for a basic...well technically $15 is overpriced too. Can you walk into a retail store in your area and pick up Hurricane? If not, than $20 isn't that bad of a deal. Maybe in 3 years you'll be able to get a loose Hurricane on Ebay for $5. $25 for a 2 pack is only like $5 more than retail at this point too.
It's not like he was charging $40 for the 2 pack.

Not that bad, since here in Germany the NORMAL costs of Basics are $21 and the 2packs are $39 (including 19% TAX).

Most of the time when i go into a flea market i see 1 of the following things:
1.The person has a bca figure moc and they want $25.00 because it has the old wwf logo and they think that it is rare.
2.The person has a bunch of loose figures and they look like they have been dipped in a bucket of red paint and they still want $5-$8 each for them.
3.The person who goes to the local retail store and gets all the good figures and tries to double (sometimes triple) there money.
4.The person who gives you some long winded story about how rare or old that figure is. (even though you could go down to wal-mart and get the same figure for half of what they are asking).
5.The kid who thinks he is going to be the next millionaire selling his wrestling figures.

20 bucks for Hurricane? That's messed up. The only logical reason for such a price would be if he passed away or this guy thinks since the new Green Lantern movie comes out tomorrow and his costume was inspired by the Green Lantern that he could make a quick buck off of it. I know Helms was released but usually figures of released figures tend to lower the prices. The only names I could think of that left the company are big names like Jericho and The Hardys.

I ing hate stupid con artists. This whole trend as far as people trying to jack up the prices is getting ridiculous. I seriously can't believe the stupidity of these people. Glad you were smart enough to know a dumb when you see one.

Yeah, I don't know what everyone else thinks of this, but I'd say those are rather fair prices for reselling.

I'm not surprised. It was a farmers market. The guy selling is a scalper who pays retail and marks them up to make a profit.

its a great place to HUSTLE him brother! he probably has them marked higher than he is willing to actually take.. maybe so , maybe not.. but that guy has no loyalty to any retail chain store or street gang, so speak to him, ( with respect ) and make an offer! he'll counter offer, then build repore with him 4 ex.: "oh i see your bumper sticker, my brother is a marine as well . "
hahaha
but seriously brother... ur not at walmart or TRU.. with some SLick in ya, play make a deal.

Farmers markets were good to go to as was flea markets but now you have the internet people know what stuff is worth so therefor they try to get what they see on the internet. Before the internet people would go to sell crap they had around the house and just get w/e they could as like a garage sale type deal.
