I go into walmart and walk down the toy section, not expecting to find anything, when i spot a E8 Drew Mcintyre!!!!! iv been wanting this for a while so i pick it up, and what do you know, the front plastic has been cust and the belt is gone. that didnt stop me, i still was going to buy it.
I go up to the cash register and they scan all my items and then they get to the drew mcintyre, well he looks at it and this is how it goes
Cashier:We cant se you this Me:Why not? C:because it is a damaged item M: I dont care, i will still pay ful price C:Sorrry its against our policy M:comon man, im willing to pay the full price C:hold on lemme call the manager Manager: Sorry sir this will have to go to claims Me: but im willing to pay the full price Manager: Sorry sir its store policy
So they refused to sell me the Drew Mccintyre even though i was willing to pay full price. its stupid if you ask me.

Wow that is ridiculous. It seems like these managers are different from store to store. Some get a hard on like this guy you dealt with. Others would have let you buy it I'm sure. You should contact customer service at Walmart and tell them the dilemma. Me, I wouldn't have let them tell me no-I wouldve brought up district managers and the like. Hell I'd have called customer service right there in the store! Raise a little hell ya know!

Its not stupid, it is the manager being smart and following the rules. He isn't going to break a store policy and risk getting fired just to let you have an action figure. Common sense people.

That sucks dude. They tried that sh*t with the Royal Rumble Edge, when the "recall" was going on. I called Mattel the next day in Walmart, with a member of management right next to me, and was told there was no recall on the WWE figures, and I still couldn't buy the Edge. My friend got me an E8 Drew so..YAY!
I hope you find him soon.

You will more than likely find another. Just ask DH Smith and Tyson Kidd, who at 0.5/case are still hanging for dear life at a lot of stores. They're going to be joined by Regal soon.

What a stupid policy! If the customer still wants the item even with it being damaged then that's totally up to them... That's how most policies work over here anyway. Ridiculous.

I assume most of you have never worked a DAY in retail. Either that, or are just morons.
Damaged items can't be sold, for safety precautions for the store/company. And as crazy as it sounds, people could use it against the company, to get money. We've had people come in, buy something that's KNOWINGLY slightly damaged (shirt with a small hole in it). We give it to them at a discounted price, since they usually ask for it (10% off). They then turn around, call customer service and claim we sold them a damaged product. They demand the company send them a new shirt and something for their "inconvenience"... usually a gift card. At times, corporate will oblige and give them what they want. Others, they'll go to court for it... it's ridiculous.
Anyway, companies have policies like this to prevent stupid thing like that from happening.
More importantly, the guy was just following his employer's policy. You'd do the same.

The customer was then asked to sign a receipt certifying that they agreed to buy the item 'as it was' so that they couldn't try any funny business after the purchase.

TRU puts a big red sticker on packages. Target has a "sold as is" label.

This is how all situations should be handled lol I've considered it lately. I feel with Austin having air time it would be more socially acceptable. Especially at a Walmart. People might cheer seeing the shirt and tie get a stunner.
