It's a fact that Toys R Us raises its prices in stores located in more affluent areas. Today I spotted Elite figures for $16.99! A full two dollars more than Target, Walmart and KMart.
I fully expect TRU to raise prices on their WWE items on Sunday because of the Vince McMahon redemption program.

I seen 2 Targets here in California and they are at $17 and some change. I might need to stop collecting because a few more dollars, I can get 2 basics. 1 Elite figure = 1 really nice dinner.
I feel bad for kids that want to collect but at almost $20, that's nuts!

TRU is an equal opportunity gouger. I'm in CT, the elites were $16.99, Rumblers are $9.99, Basics were $11.99. TRU was scared poopless to raise the Legends over $12.99. Although by next week Legends will probably be $16.99, that's why I bought my extra Macho today. This TRU is not in the ritzy part of town.

They are the cheapest of the big three for Legends at $12.99. And their prices really aren't that much different than Target & WalMart for Basics & Elites. (within .50 cents)

I was at TRU today...
This kid was all excited...
Kid: "That's the 1 I want! He even comes with the championship belt!" (Sheamus) Mom: "He costs $16.99. You can get something for $10."
Kid: "THEY HAVE THE ROCK!!!" (DM Rock) Mom: "Honey, he costs $25.99!"
I'm not complaining, but if ya think about it that is pretty insane for action figures.

TRUs prices are absolutely RIDICULOUS. although the other big chains are following suit.
Mattel has stated here that their basic figures are priced for retail to sell at $9.99, i dont know how these guys (Target, TRU, etc) are getting away with charging $1-$2 more for a simple basic figure that doesn't even have a stand anymore!

I noticed when I picked up E9 Miz at TRU this week that the price jumped a dollar from the last wave of Elites they got (Series 6). As a matter of fact, there were tons of Shad, JTG, & Fatt Hardy all priced at 15.99, but these new elites in the Vince cube were all scanning at 16.99, which with tax here in Mi makes Elites $18.01. ING RIDICULOUS!

I went to TRU that had Elite 9 and was all set to grab Zack Ryder, but the $17 price tag made me think it over enough that I decided I'd wait until later.
Then with them charging $13 for Legends it seems weird to have that huge discrepancy in costs. I'm definitely gonna wait out Legends 6 until TRU gets them though since that would be the cheapest place to grab Legends by far.

I was just saying to a friend of mine earlier how weird it is that Legends are cheaper than Elite. I picked up L5 Savage for $12.99 while they were charing $16.99 for Elite! I'm dying to find Elite Miz but at that price, I may wait until I find him elsewhere on the cheap.

I don't know how all the stores are charging even more for them, I wish there was something Mattel could do. Basics are running me $13, and Elites are $16-17.50. I saw both of Demolition yesterday but thought to myself, do I really want to spend $35 on 2 figures that are cool, but not must haves? Had they been $12 or 13 I would have got them on the spot.
I don't mind paying more and buying less for the most part, but when they go from $15 to pushing $20 I don't see myself buying any anymore.

Basics are not worth more than the $9.99 price the line started with in 2010.

I had to pass on McIntyre Elite today because one elite at TRU here in Chicago is 18 plus change. WTF. This is why I haven't been buying Mattel, too expensive.
