First off, to make it clear I am not really a Bond guy, don't get excited for them when they come out and I haven't really seen that many of the early ones, but after recently watching The Living Daylights for the first time in years I have to say one thing, Timothy Dalton is am-azing! Everything from his delivery and attitude and playing it as a proper guy was just great. However, after asking some of my friends, I feel that I'm the only one that actually likes Dalton.
I thought I'd ask here and see what yous guys thought of him?

I replied The Worst. This doesn't mean he was completely terrible, but, out of all the James Bonds, he was the worst.

I don't like him or Lazenby as Bond.
Connery, then Craig, then Brosnan..... then the other guys.

I've only seen one of his Bond films but I found him pretty bland. For me, Daniel Craig is by far the greatest bond. and yes, I was one of those people who didn't think he was attractive or dark enough to fit the bill, but I was proven to be way off. Casino Royale is among my top 3 action movies of all time and his acting makes the other Bonds look totally 2 dimensional as characters. Too bad QOS was a disappointment.
After him, I'd probably say best to worst is Connery, Brosnan (liked him, he had the perfect looks IMO, but WINE and DAD are the worst Bond movies I've seen) then Moore and Dalton are about tied. (I've never seen Lazenby's one).

He wasn't the best James Bond, but he was certainly a hell of a lot better than Roger Moore. I voted great though because he did do a great job.

I might be one of the only like five people who loved QOS, haha. But yeah, Casino Royale is easily the best Bond movie, Craig the best bond, one of the best action movies, etc.

I definitely want them to move forward with more Craig Bond films!

I personally just hated the plot of QOS. It had the components of a good Bond movie in its basic factors, but really failed in terms of narrative and screenplay. Reminded me a lot of the last two awful Brosnan movies. Also, it had a lot to live up to after Casino. Have to say though, there have been way worse films in the Bond franchise and the opening sequence was awesome. Still, can not wait for Bond 23.

he is 2nd from bottom for me.I rank the Bonds as following
Brosnan-not because hes Irish but because Goldenye is my fave Bond movie.plus Ive met him-hes a cool man.
Craig because of Casino Royale.strange that Martin Campbell has directed my top 2 Bond movies.
Connery/Moore-enjoy their movies equally.
then Dalton and Lazenby last.
isnt it weird that out of all the actors to play Bond only 2 were English?

The villain side of the plot was pretty weak, for sure. I was a big fan of the personal stuff for Bond. Craig's presence just brings so much to the character as it is, and stuff like Mathis dying and the ending were just so excellent to me.

Timothy Dalton was everything 007 should be, serious, charming, and deadly all rolled into one. Great films, great acting for sure. Had his contract not run out in 1994 (he didn't renew b/c he thought he was too old by then) and if Property of a Lady had been made and released by 1991 followed up by Goldeneye in 1993/4ish (watch LTK, then watch Goldeneye again, that film was written for Dalton), we'd be talking about right now how he was the best Bond of them all.
But at least at the end of the day he made two of the best 007 films, Licence to Kill being the greatest in my opinon.

I'm a huge fan of Timothy Dalton in general and absolutely loved him as Bond. I love how serious he played it, and find it funny that in the 80s that almost killed the franchise, then with Craig the same philosophy saved it.
Dalton also played it closest to the books. But I love pretty much all the bond movies for different reasons and i'm glad that each actor actually played it differently.

The worst, in my opinion. Sean Connery is James Bond, nobody else compares.

I find it really saddening the amount of people here that didn't enjoy his performance as much I did. I found him to be absolutely wonderful. Such a great actor. It literally makes me feel sad.. I thought he defined the role.
