So John Cena can get away with gay jokes and Punk can't? Ok.. Equally hypocritical though is the fact that many people on here criticized Cena's promo (towards The Rock) for having gay jokes in it, yet Punk flat-out calls someone a homo and it's met with ridiculous praise. Swings and roundabouts. |

Tbh, I don't think you people understand (even though he didn't really mean it) that he used homo as an insult. Then you get people thinking it's ok to use as an insult. I don't think there's anything wrong using it in a different context, but punk used it as a diss.

yeah, i mean, if he's promoting gay marriage on twitter then great. he clearly wasn't being honest when he said this. but the point is, this was still a complete dick move and completely ignorant for him to do given the recent GLAAD situation. the amount of 'that was gold and his facial hair is godly' responses just show how many sheep there are here, get some originality. and yeah, great point to whoever mentioned the Cena promo. "HURR DURR CENA'S SENSE OF HUMOUR IS SO CHILDISH" yet Punk uses an insult that me and my peers were using as stupid 10 year olds and that is godly. I still think that if someone like JTG had said this, the response would be much less defensive.

I sure don't. Getting all in a wad over someone saying "gay" or "homo" or "queer" of whatever is ridiculous. That would be like me getting mad if a homosexual yelled "straight" or "hetero" at me. According to several sources in WWE, CM Punk's apology on Twitter was written by Punk without the prompting of WWE officials. While WWE higher-ups were definitely talking yesterday about Punk's actions, the controversial Punk was apparently legitimately embarrassed by the video and posted the apology before the WWE officials got involved.
"Punk was telling everyone in the locker room that he felt like a complete douche," one wrestler currently on the tour in Australia told WrestleZone this morning. "His tweet were in his words, because that's how he really felt."
We'll have much more on this breaking story as it develops.
