We had a Wes Anderson Survivor Marathon ysterday. I made it through two films, while 2 out of the 10 people watched them all: Bottle Rocket The Royal Tenebaums The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou (I was out before this one started) The Darjeeling Limited Moonrise Kingdom The Grand Budapest Hotel You’re missing Rushmore and Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Wes Anderson is great. 😠 😋 When we do the marathons, we always have to take some films out so that it doesn't go too long. We try to keep it around 12 hours. If it comes down to it, the ten of us vote to remove certain films from the marathon. I like some of Wes Anderson stuff, I kind of soured on him with The Darjeeling Limited. When we did the movie marathon for Pasolini, not surprisingly, Salo was voted out of the running.

Been in a mob mood lately and Netflix added some good ones!
Goodfellas: I love this movie! Easily in my top 5 of all time movies made! I think I have seen it about 100 or so times now.. never gets old.
Godfather : Up until recently I had never watched this movie all the way through. I really enjoyed it..not as much as Goodfellas. lol I think it's one of those movies that maybe you have to hit a certain age to appreciate. I find myself going back and watching movies that use to bore me before and now I find them more interesting. Or it just could be me..
Godfather pt. 2- Long movie but I really enjoyed the Vito story line. The other part of the movie kinda jumped around a bit and would get kinda confusing. Still a good watch... I might watch part 3 either tonight or tomorrow.

Original with Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen or remake with Chris Pratt? I have to flex my cinephile nerd muscles here...the original starred Toshiro Mifune & Takashi Shimura. In 1954, and I don't mean this lightly, one of the greatest movies ever made, "Seven Samurai," was released. It was remade in 1960 for U.S. audiences as "The Magnificent Seven." It was on TCM this morning. I put it on the DVR and am watching it now.

It was halfway decent until that last line of the movie. So much cheese. But that's what those movies are now. The last trap with the lasers was pretty good though.

The traps were simple in comparison to previous movies (as explained why) but I wasn't a fan of the twist and how it contradicts events of the previous movies. Two games taking place over two different timelines as well as an accomplice is a bit excessive.

Batman '89
It was a blast. I haven't seen it in 10+ years. I love the two Burton Batman movies.

We had a Melville Survivor Marathon. All ten of us made it through all five films so no one lost money. Melville is one of my favorite directors so i had seen all of the films beforehand, but it's great to watch some of your favorite films with friends that had never seen them. Here are the five we watched:
Bob le flambeur Le Doulos Le Samouraï Le Cercle Rouge Un flic

Not yet, but in five hours I will finally watch Justice League. Four times I planned on seeing it when it was in the theaters and all four times my plans fell through. So according to Vudu in 5 hours my digital pre-order will be available to watch.

For the most part I enjoyed it. The only things I wish were different was how they addressed Superman and that Aquaman/Atlantians didn't look like they were holding their breath under water.

I thought the group would have liked Léon Morin, Priest .

Happy Death Day.
Just watched it, and really enjoyed it, it's hard to pull off a bloodless, nudeless, swearless, slasher type movie but this movie does.
