El Generico vs. Austin Aries in a Maple Leaf Tournament Match
The match began with El Generico getting the crowd to yell “Ole!” and Austin Aries definitely wasn’t impressed. Austin Aries ran up to El Generico and hit him with a European Uppercut. Aries then hit a Sidewalk Slam on El Generico. Aries kept wearing Generico down with several kicks to the abdomen. Generico didn’t seem pleased with his beating he was getting. Aries drilled Generico with a Death Valley Driver and attempted to get a pinfall, which only was a 2 count. Generico got up and Aries was prepared to attempt to suplex him. Generico hit a Standing Moonsault on Aries to gain the upper hand. He put Aries in the corner to attempt to drill him with an Ole Kick. Generico missed the Ole Kick and Aries hurt Generico with a Belly to Back Suplex. Aries attempted to pin Generico, but he only got a 2 count. As Generico laid on the ground in pain, Aries climbed to the top turnbuckle and was about to finish Generico off with his 450 Splash. Aries missed the 450 Splash and Generico picked him up and perfected a Three-Quarter Nelson Suplex to get a pin, but he only got a 2 count. Generico then put Aries in a Half Leg Boston Crab, but Aries got to the ropes to get an advantage. As Aries went outside, Generico suicide dived to the outside at Aries, but Aries caught Generico and dropped his face on the guardrail. Aries grabbed Generico and brought him onto the ring apron and nailed a Death Valley Driver! Generico seemed out cold, but he moved a bit until Aries picked him up. Aries took Generico into the ring and perfected the Brainbuster, and climbed to the top of the turnbuckle and demolished Generico with a devastating 450 Splash! Aries went for the pin and got the 3 count to advance in the Maple Leaf Tournament.
Chris Jericho vs. Davey Richards in a Maple Leaf Tournament Match
The match started with Davey Richards extending his hand as a sign of mutual respect to veteran Chris Jericho, and Chris shook the hand of Davey. These two locked up and Chris hit a dropkick on Davey to kick this match off. Chris got up and stared Davey down as Davey stood up in the corner. Davey and Chris traded blows until Davey put Chris into the corner. When Chris sat in the corner Davey attempted to hit a running elbow smash and Chris moved out of the way. Chris perfected a belly to back suplex to Davey and pinned Davey for a 1 count. Chris kept his lock on Davey for another belly to back suplex but this time into the corner. Davey was in the corner as Chris ran toward him and drilled him with Jericho Spike. Chris then tried to put the Liontamer on Davey, but Davey threw Chris into the ropes. Davey sprung up as Chris tried to run and hit a Lionsault. Chris missed the Lionsault, but he managed to land on his feet, meanwhile Davey perfected a Tiger Suplex on Chris. Davey attempted to get a pin, but he only got a two count. Chris was trying to get out of the hold Davey had him in, but Davey got up and hit Chris with a Damage Reflex. Davey went into the corner and prepared to hit Chris with a Running Powerbomb. Chris ran over to the corner and Davey punched Chris in the face and set up a Running Powerbomb. Davey nailed the Running Powerbomb, and he locked in a Boston Crab onto Chris. As the pain moved in, Chris attempted to get to the rope. Chris eventually got to the rope and Davey let go. Davey kicked Chris in the gut, and Chris got to the outside. Chris relaxed on the outside of the ring as Davey jumped over the top rope and hit a Sunset Flip on Chris. Davey picked Chris up and German Suplexed Chris onto the ring apron. Chris fell down onto the floor as Davey tossed him into the ring. Davey put Chris dead center in the ring and locked the Horse Collar on Chris. The submission didn’t work because Chris reached the rope after pulling toward the rope. Davey then hit a DR Driver I to get the win! Davey advanced in the Maple Leaf Tournament.
Low Ki vs. CM Punk in a Maple Leaf Tournament Match
The match started with CM Punk shaking Low Ki’s hand. They locked up and Low Ki headbutted CM Punk. Low Ki nailed multiple stiff kicks to CM Punk’s leg. CM Punk nailed a belly to belly suplex on Low Ki and pinned Low Ki for a 1 count. CM Punk yelled at the referee and told him to quit being an idiot! Low Ki and CM Punk traded multiple stiff kicks until CM Punk drilled a stiff kick to Low Ki’s gut. CM Punk perfected his move, Welcome to Chicago Mother F*cker on Low Ki! As Low Ki sat in the corner, CM Punk facewashed Low Ki, and flipped him off. Low Ki tried to get up, but CM Punk hit a stiff kick to the skull of Low Ki! CM Punk attempted to set Low Ki up for a Pepsi Plunge, but Low Ki got out of the move and drilled CM Punk with a Running Ki Krusher. Low Ki pinned CM Punk, but only got a two count. Low Ki tried to nail the Ghetto Stomp on CM Punk, but CM Punk moved away just in time. CM Punk superkicked Low Ki right in the jaw, then CM Punk hit Low Ki with a Pepsi Twist. CM Punk locked in the Anaconda Vise on Low Ki, meanwhile Low Ki got his leg on the bottom rope. Low Ki crawled to the outside, and CM Punk suicide dived to the outside. CM Punk attempted to drop Low Ki on the guardrail, but Low Ki slipped out of it and kicked CM Punk in the back with a stiff kick. Low Ki jumped onto the ring apron, and up onto the top turnbuckle to hit a Phoenix Splash. CM Punk was now on the ground after the effective Phoenix Splash. Low Ki threw CM Punk into the ring and nailed a Ghetto Stomp on CM Punk, then he pinned CM Punk for a 2 count. Low Ki kicked CM Punk in the head several times as CM Punk laid on the ground. Low Ki went for another Ghetto Stomp and perfected it! CM Punk was motionless as Low Ki pinned him for the win. Low Ki advanced in the tournament.
Owen Hart vs. Desmond Wolfe in a Maple Leaf Tournament Match
This match began with Desmond Wolfe walking up to Owen Hart and yelling at him. Owen punched Desmond down to the ground. Desmond backed up to the turnbuckle and Owen smiled. Finally, Desmond got up and Owen superkicked him. Owen stomped on Desmond several times before Desmond crawled out of the ring. Desmond argued with a fan about why he is the best in the world, meanwhile Owen climbed to the top turnbuckle and crossbodied Desmond. Owen grabbed Desmond’s head and threw him into the guardrails. Owen told Desmond to prepare to learn how to wrestle a Hart. Owen then grabbed Desmond and put Desmond’s legs around the corner to apply the sharpshooter. Eventually, Owen let go of the sharpshooter and went to the outside to grab Desmond. Owen threw Desmond into the ring to try to finish him off. Owen stood Desmond up and attempted to hit a Bridging Northern Suplex, but Desmond kicked Owen low when the referee wasn’t looking. Desmond nailed European Uppercuts to Owen and hit Owen with the Divorce Court. The referee checked on Owen until Desmond tossed the referee away. Desmond picked Owen up and hit several cross chops to Owen’s neck. Owen was then tossed into the ropes by Desmond before Desmond hit a Rebound Lariat. Desmond pinned Owen and only got a 2 count. Owen was picked up by Desmond and hit with a Rebound Lariat again. Desmond finally picked Owen up and put him on the top turnbuckle and hit a Tower of London. Desmond pinned Owen to only get a 2 count! Owen seemed out of it, but he put his hands on the bottom rope. Desmond picked Owen up and put him on the top turnbuckle again. Owen pushed Desmond away and dropkicked Desmond. Owen got himself up and put the sharpshooter on Desmond! The problem was that neither of these men would give in. Owen finally made Desmond tap out in this match and advanced in the Maple Leaf Tournament.
British Bulldogs (c) vs. Kings of Wrestling for the Tag Team Championships
The match began with the Kings of Wrestling taunting the British Bulldogs about why they are the Kings and they reign supreme! Davey Boy Smith started out against Chris Hero, and Chris offered to shake Davey’s hand. Chris then drilled a German Suplex on Davey! Claudio cheered on his tag team partner Chris and told him to destoy Davey’s face with a Rolling Elbow, which Chris attempted to do and Davey moved. Davey then Clotheslined Chris, flipped him onto his back, and put him in a Camel Clutch. Chris tagged Claudio in during the hold, and Claudio drilled Davey in the face with his boot! Claudio then hit a Swiss Uppercut on Davey’s neck. The Kings seemed to have the upper hand until Davey tagged in Dynamite! Dynamite ran at Claudio with many Stiff Kicks to the legs. Claudio finally hit Dynamite with multiple Swiss Uppercuts to the throat, and set up a Ricola Bomb, and that was countered into a Hurricanrana that got a two count pinfall before Chris came in and Big Booted Dynamite in the jaw. The Kings signaled the end quickly, but it was far away. Claudio picked Dynamite’s legs up and signaled a Giant Swing, which then ended up with Chris kicking Dynamite in the skull. Claudio went for the pin, but he only got a 2 count. Claudio tagged in Chris, and Chris put a Hangman’s Clutch on Dynamite. As time went on, Dynamite got to the rope. Chris set up a Hero’s Welcome on Dynamite, but Davey drilled Chris with a Lariat! Claudio ran in to Big Boot Davey, but Davey ducked and nailed a Belly to Back Suplex on Claudio. Dynamite set up a German Suplex to get rid of Chris and retain the tag team championships. Claudio was out as Davey was tagged in by Dynamite, and Davey dropped Chris with a Gorilla Press and Dynamite hit a Diving Headbutt on Chris. Davey put Chris in a Boston Crab, but Claudio was up and connected with the Big Boot to the skull of Davey! Claudio then drilled Dynamite with a lariat, and got Chris up. Chris set the Hero’s Welcome up on Davey and perfected it. He put Davey in the Hangman’s Clutch and forced him to tap!! The Kings became the Tag Team Champions via Submission.
Bret “The Hitman” Hart (c) vs. “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson for the World Championship
The match started with Bryan Danielson and Bret Hart shaking hands. These two began to punch each other repeatedly. Bret dropkicked Bryan to gain the upper hand in this match up. Bret attempted to apply the figure four leg lock to Bryan, but Bryan kicked Bret off of him and into the corner. Bryan sprang up and nailed a perfect flying forearm smash. Bret fell down to the ground and Bryan climbed up onto the top turnbuckle and missed a flying headbutt. Bret and Bryan laid on the ground for ten seconds. Bryan was first to get up and welcomed Bret to lock up with him. Bret attempted to push Bryan back into the corner, but Bryan switched it around and swung several corner elbow smashes to Bret. Bryan then lifted Bret to the top turnbuckle and perfected a Northern Lights suplex from the top rope!!! Both men seemed unconscious after that devastating move, but Bryan managed to pin Bret. Bryan got a two count. Bryan got up, picked Bret up, and nailed several European Uppercuts on Bret. Then, Bryan flipped Bret around and perfected a Tiger Suplex to only get a two count! Bret headed to the outside to try and recover from Bryan’s strong style. Bryan suicide dived to the outside and drilled Bret onto a guardrail. Bryan then attempted to set up a suplex and Bret reversed it and perfected a Release German Suplex onto the bare concrete! Bret tossed Bryan over the guard rail, put Bryan’s legs through the guard rail, and applied a figure four leg lock. The referee went to the outside and tried to stop Bret, but Bret wouldn’t stop. Finally Bret stopped, got up, and picked Bryan up to bring him to the other side. Bryan couldn’t stand, so Bret brought Bryan to the ring apron and lifted him up for a spike piledriver! Bret nailed the spike piledriver onto Bryan on the outside!!!! Bryan was out cold! Bret yelled at Bryan and said, “How do you feel now? This is how we wrestle in Canada!!!” Bret grabbed Bryan and tossed him back into the ring. Bret put a sharpshooter on Bryan and Bryan was passed out. The referee rang for the bell to signal the end of the match. Bryan was knocked out cold and Bret was taunting the crowd with his World Championship. The show ended with Bret walking out with his World Championship and Bryan being attended to by referee’s.
