At my school, there is three kids who play this all day and night... They run around school pretending to build things. No joke.

And now it's time for another episode! I hope everyone enjoyed the Derp Tour, because it comes to a conclusion in "Minecraft Awesome Is Awesome Episode 39: PD Says Goodbye To Derp, For Now".
From the description: "The final episode before the big 4-0, Minecraft Awesome Is Awesome Episode 39 features the last leg of the second tour of the awesome Derp Islands community. I had a lot of fun re-discovering and exploring the Derp Islands, and I look forward to giving their community another go-round whenever I decide to go back."

And now it's time for Episode 40! Forty episodes... wow. Coincidentally, this is also the 100th video uploaded on my YouTube channel. In addition to all that, I'm in the process of launching my own website. So it's been pretty crazy, but the good kind of crazy. I'd like to once again thank all my subscribers, fans, and friends for sticking with me and helping this series reach 40 episodes.
And so, now it's time for "Minecraft Awesome Is Awesome Episode 40: Minecraft Goes To War".
From the description: "My little series celebrates forty episodes with the start of the latest arc: the super-fun WAR event. The rules are simple: three teams, two flags, no prisoners. It's a mad dash to kill or be killed, featuring many multi-person melees in addition to special appearances by many of the Minecraft Awesome mods and, at one point, Fraser himself. It was an hour of all-out insanity and chaos, and some of the most fun I've had on this server. It's my pleasure to kick off Episode 40 with the WAR."
Hope you guys enjoy!

PD, you have to do a series on our humble WF server.
We've been enquiring about you having a look around for a while.

I would love to check out ya'lls server, but "Minecraft Awesome Is Awesome" has been and should always be focused on the Minecraft Awesome server. The good news is that I'm launching a new website and part of that involves a preview/review section that will be video-based. So I could "review" the server, which I think would be fun. I'll let you guys know when I have enough free time.

And now, because I'm a cheap plugging bastard, I'm going to post an article I recently wrote on my site concerning Minecraft. For any and all interested, the website is www.fightgameblog.net----- Is It Really That Big Of A Deal That Minecraft Isn't On Steam? Minecraft is a game that has survived and thrived on the underground, owing its success primarily to word-of-mouth. From humble beginnings, the game has now celebrated three million copies sold, with a gigantic 1.8 update planned, the “officially released version” planned some months after that, and a port to various other systems like the Xbox 360, the iPhone, and the iPad all on the way. But recently, Minecraft’s creator, Notch, has come under fire for some things he said in a blog post, detailing why Minecraft still isn’t on Steam, the largest and most famous online digital distribution platform for video games. But in all honesty, I just don’t see what the fuss is about. Here are some of the highlights from that blog post, which you can read in its entirety here: “Being on Steam limits a lot of what we’re allowed to do with the game, and how we’re allowed to talk to our users… It would effectively split the Minecraft community into two parts, where only some of the players can access all of the weird content we want to add to the game… There’s a certain inherent incompatibility between what we want to do and what they want to do. So there’s no big argument, we just don’t want to limit what we can do with Minecraft.” Of course, Notch praises Steam several times throughout the post. Nevertheless, some fans have reacted negatively to this news. The term “greedy” has been used more than once in response to Notch’s reasons for not wanting to put Minecraft on Steam. Even if that’s true, I think Notch has earned the right to be a little greedy. If I made a game that I thought was going to be nothing more than an obscure indy title, and it ended up selling three million copies, then I’d want to be able to control everything about it too. Call it greed, call it being protective, I don’t care. Now, in defense of Steam, I can admit that there’s probably a middle ground that could be reached. In these types of situations, it’d be rare if a compromise wasn’t possible, and not the other way around. It may not fully satisfy each side’s demands, but that’s what compromise is all about. But here’s a confession from me to you: I don’t have Steam, I’ve never had Steam, and I don’t feel any great need to get Steam. Is that wrong of me? Am I depriving myself from some great gaming goodness? Probably. But it’s just never been that big of an issue with me. So, as I said, I just don’t get what all the fuss is about. I’m not saying this to put Minecraft on a pedestal while at the same time putting Steam down, but my opinion on this is bluntly realistic: at this point Minecraft doesn’t need Steam, so if Minecraft doesn’t want Steam, that’s Notch’s call to make and he has a right to make it. In the end, Minecraft has so many amazing things both in it already and planned for the future that I’m far more focused on that than why Minecraft isn’t on Steam yet. -----
