Looking at all these great figures coming out by mattel has got me thinking my strategy. Should I shell out the money for the preorders or just be patient and get them at retail? Is it worth it to pay an extra $5 (minimum) per figure as a pre order? What do you guys think?

if i could find them at retail here i prob would but canada dont get much, and where i live we have maybe 2 or 3 stores that carry toys in a population of 120,000 maybe.... so anything they get in goes fast
So i pre-order, i miss the hunt of the figures but i still look once in a while

If it's a figure I really want, I'll spend the extra money and pre-order. You get it MUCH earlier than retail, and I don't want to risk not being able to find them at retail. Not to mention all the time and gas money spent driving around to try and track them down However, if it's someone I'm not sure about, I'll wait until retail to see if I can find it and have the extra money.

I find myself driving around and for the most part coming up empty handed. But that thrill of when you find something your looking for is something you really dont get from ordering online preorders

If it's a vast improvement over a Superstar's previous figure than I pre-order it. But I do hold off and get some at retail. Mostly for the whole thrill of the hunt.

Pre order 100%. You get it sooner and are 100% likely to find it. Only things I've gotten at retail are things not on my priority list, E7 DH Smith, E8 Edge, Regal, DMac( cheaper).

Mostly Retail but with this new Punk. I might have no choice to do pre order. I love finding it in the store though, its a much better feeling.

as the Nexus two packs taught me, Pre Ordering is the way to go. Retail is so behind RSC and its just a pain in the ass always trying to find figures you need/want.

Elites are $17.99 at TRU and, I just purchased Elite 11 figures for $19.99 each. Can't beat it.

Retail. I can be patient. Plus pre-rdering takes away all the fun from the hunt.

Pre order since it would be the same paying for transportation to go figure hunting.

I prefer to buy at retail, but some things I like to preorder if it's worth it. Like I know I really wanted Elite Daniel Bryan in that attire, so it was very much worth pre-ordering, even if I fine it in a bargain bid later it will be worth the money to me.

i use to think it was stupid to pay the extra to pre-order it. then i decided its worth the extra money to get them so much earlier. my first preorder was elite 8, and im glad i did that because nowhere around here has even got them in yet. i preordered the elite 11 punk and barrett and after shipping and then taking the wfigs discount off im paying $5 more per figure. i would rather do that and get them earlier cause it will prolly be christmas time b4 we get them here then u dont know if they will have the ones your wanting in.

I pretty much always go to retail because the price is just so much better and I have enough stores within my area where I can find all the stuff I need without having to spend a lot on gas. Only things I order from RSC would be their exclusives. The idea of having the figs before anyone else does doesn't really appeal to me. Half the fun of collecting figs is the store hunting, walking in and finding the ones you want is always a pretty good feeling.

Working at TRU has made me lazy. I barely hunt anymore. If I am at target or walmart I always check for figures. I usually wait on the online exclusives till rsc has a sale and buy 1-3 exclusives and whatever other figures are cheap.

I preorder everything. Don't have time, gas money and patience for it.
However I only preorder 1 set. If I can find doubles at retail, sure I'll pick them up but only if I'm out shopping with my girl or getting groceries at Target.
