The thing is... I see people fussing about Jakks figures.. but Jakks made perfectly good versions of Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard. The Jakks King Kong Bundy is debatable.... but the point stands. I'd rather Mattel spend the six legends spots on six guys that I either DO NOT already have a figure of, or that I have a piss poor figure of.
Just look at the track record. Mattel did a better job on Pillman.. it was kind of a push on Bulldog... Jakks did a better Vader (albeit without removable mask)... the thing is, some of these people we don't NEED a new version of.
Demolition Crush? I have a Jakks figure of him. And if I wanted a Mattel, I could put that head on a Mattel Demolition body. On the flip side of that, get me a good Savio Vega that's in scale with Mattels or RA figures... I don't even know of a decent fixup you could do.
Folks like DDP I understand.. we never got an ICONIC look DDP. But do we really need another Junkyard Dog figure? Do you really think the Mattel version will be that much better than the JYD's we've already gotten?
I get the idea that you guys would eventually like to have everyone made in Mattel form... but since they don't want to give us that many people, let's focus on new people, and on replacing the Jakks figures that weren't done as well!

You could argue the fact that Jakks made a good Arn Anderson...little less a good anything. For Jakks figures I guess they were alright but Arn Anderson is scaled from height, torso, tone and definition to Hulk Hogan....Its quite silly really. Every day I wonder why Im still hoarding my Jakks figures.

AmDrag I ask myself that question almost daily... I am seriously debating letting go of all my Jakks Classic figs that I don't really need anymore

Ok correction, their head scans are usually better then Mattels but Mattel isnt awful (at least not in Elite/Legends lines). Then again, how great is a head scan when you put it on a body that looks nothing like the person?

Pjs right absolutly we agree on everything except a few choices, which is understandable. But pj I don't want a ddp, lol, I do want the brainbusters, muraco and other old schoolers. But I'd rather crush and bundy first And to who ever wants mattels jakks didn't make, I don't get how anyone can be serious about wanting mattels jakks didn't make to fill in their collection... Doesn't it look stupid having such greatly scaled mattel figures with such detail and great accessories standing next to absolute crap? Don't speak for all of us please cuz seriously I don't want a jakks arn anderson standing at the same height and size as akeem. And if you think jakks made a better vader your living on the moon

There's not a single Jakks figure that I would take over a Mattel version. As far as I'm concerned Jakks never even happened.

Well, I still do like my Jakks, but I wouldn't combine them with my Mattel's or Toy Biz for that matter. They are their own thing. Just like Remco, LJN, Galoob & Hasbro's were all their own lines. And I want to see my favorites regardless of how many companies released them in each display over a guy like Savio that I never once gave the time of day for. If I didn't find him entertaining in the ring then I surely don't want him in my display reminding me of how unentertaining he was to me. I'm going to vote for my favorites on the list. While I do hope they make the other's for those who do want them...I'm just not going to be one of the guys voting for them or buying them when they are released. I'll leave them for those who do want them and just hope for the guys I want no matter how many times they were released by other companies. Pjs right absolutly we agree on everything except a few choices, which is understandable. But pj I don't want a ddp, lol, I do want the brainbusters, muraco and other old schoolers. And if you think jakks made a better vader your living on the moon Oh, I thought you did want DDP, Doink, Crush & Bundy first. See that's even more we agree on as DDP is ranked #15 on my list of the 17 choices. lol My First 5 are Muraco, Snuka, Tito, Windham, Arn.

lol I really can't believe someone said that Jakks Vader was better then Mattels. Not even close....the Jakks Vader sucked, the body didn't look like Vader's at all and the head was way to small and it didn't capture his likeness. The only good thing about that figure was the mask that came with it that he used to wear in WCW

I don't make my Mattel purchases based on what Jakks did or didn't do. The sooner Mattel can make guys like Diesel, the sooner I can put my Jakks versions away.

PJ, i voted for Bundy, Crush, Doink , One Man Gang and Farooq or M$M, but i would buy the brainbusters, muraco, JYD, maybe Liz , maybe snuka, maybe windham Really Other than Earthquake and Gonzalez my biggest want is Power and Glory - Herc and Roma ... Im even thinking about making them myself seeing how long it will prob take Mattel to get around to it

I wish they'd quit making new Batman and Superman figures, the ones I had as a kid are fine...
But seriously, anyone who says Mattel shouldn't make guys Jakks already made has failed Intro to Business 101. I guess Mattel shouldn't make John Cena, Mysterio, HHH, Undertaker, etc anymore either? Why on earth would Mattel want to make money with the WWE license??? (sarcasm)
At least we as Legends collectors are getting the Rockers, Andre, +5 more figures early next year. And that Macho King. And Flashbacks. Mattel could have done to us like they did to DCUC, which if the poll on Matty's frontpage is correct, will soon be canceled.

Meh. I understand people not being interested in DDP, but what a huge letdown that is. The one guy I've been looking forward to and at this rate, he won't be made. Can't even take solace in the fact that this lineup will save me a relative fortune, I'd be happy to fork it over for Page.
Can't even bother ranting and raving. It's just depressing.

So, for those still in the know, when is the next Legends series coming out? And will all series be done online going forward except for inserts into elite?

Series 6 was the last series at retail. They are now going to be Matty Collectors exclusives. The Rockers in Nove. Andre in Jan and then the 5 winners of the poll every other month in 2012

I like the idea of them being online exclusives but am not liking that we will only get 6 a year... That just seems like so few especially since they gave us quite a few to pick from... Hopefully they do well and Mattel starts doing one every month

Thinking of getting back in if its only 6 to 10 figs a year. Ok, so that means only 6 new figs per year going forward, right?
