Just got the Unseen matches DVD. I love it and hope they do new volumes of this once a year or so since I'm sure they are sitting on footage of so many cool matches that were never aired. The hbk and Bret tag is interesting, almost awkward. Bret gets Slammed the whole match and HBK barely gets in there. Interesting stuff

WWE DVD have released the artwork on the upcoming "Unreleased 1985 - 1995" DVD. www.wwedvd.co.uk/unreleased-1986-1995-order-p-12375.htmlI absolutely love that artwork. Such a shame it's DVD only. Would have been a definite buy if it was also on Blu-Ray. Damn those money-grabbing s at Sony! Nothing in that era was shot in HD anyway, so lack of Blu ray is no great loss on that release. While that is true, the release also dedicates a significant portion to newly filmed footage to discuss the upcoming matches. In my opinion, any release that includes any HD-filmed footage at all should be released on Blu Ray. And if it's too costly to release physically, then it should be released digitally as well at the very least. The fact that they choose not to do this continues to bewilder me. Being the technology snob that I am, I refuse to purchase any release that is released as DVD only, unless it's a release (such as this one) that the majority of footage comes from pre-HD. And as WWE choose to release less and less titles on Blu Ray, I'll purchase less and less.

WDN has revealed a plethora of titles that appear to be scheduled to be released by WWE Home Video in 2018. Many of these concepts were mentioned a few months ago as possibilities, but these apparently made the cut for the upcoming year: - the annual "Best of 2017" comps for Raw/SD, PPVs, and for the first time, NXT; - new sets dedicated to the Hardys and the Shield, as well as the Home Video debuts of Shane McMahon and AJ Styles; - Unreleased collections for both Randy Savage and Shawn Michaels; - sets commemorating the 25th and 30th anniversaries of Raw and Summerslam , respectively; - and apparently a collection of WWE 24 specials, previously only available on the WWE Network. www.wrestlingdvdnetwork.com/first-titles-for-2018-wwe-dvd-blu-ray-schedule/142179/www.wrestlingdvdnetwork.com/shane-mcmahon-the-hardy-boyz-for-2018-wwe-dvds/142276/

Picked up the Unreleased 86-95 collection last week.
Still going through it skipping around a little too but I'm digging it.
Edit: No commentary , no problem. If it wasn't recorded with commentary at the time, do you really want Michael Cole recording commentary today for matches 30 yrs ago ?

Picked up 1997 Dawn of the Attitude Era DVD yesterday and I was a little underwhelmed. I guess what I was expecting was a timeline and outline of 97 with a lot of behind the scenes stories and why certain storylines happened the way they did. The 1st disc is Renee Young sitting down with Shawn Michaels, Kane, Faarooq, Mick Foley and The Godfather as a group and just b/s'ing about that year. They cover a few interesting topics and I learned a few things that I never knew but all in all it was rather boring and 80% of it was things we already knew and just repeating the same stories we've heard for years. The match listing is very good, but all of those can be found on the network which is kinda why I was more interested in the first disc documentary part. All in all not a terrible set, but not even close to a MUST SEE.

I think the same format would have been improved greatly if they would have included Austin, Bret, and Taker in the discussion. Would have preferred a more documentary style feature with more people interviewed for it. Godfather was a bit of an odd choice as he talked about doing The Godfather gimmick and that wasn't until the next year in '98, his 1997 wasn't extremely memorable.

Panicked there, before reading the fantastic news that this does not affect the UK Blu-Rays at all, which I find rather odd. The NXT: Secret to Sensation Blu-Ray is one release I am really excited for. If they cancelled the Blu-Ray, I would not order on DVD, because standard definition is simply not good enough anymore. Which is why it makes so disheartening that they continue to cut back every year. There are so many releases I would have purchased, had they released on Blu-Ray. But DVD only? No chance.

As someone with a large WWE Blu Ray collection, the news of them not making very many blu rays anymore is super disappointing and saddening.

Found a VHS copy of the 1998 release of Degeneration X at a thrift shop for $1. Already own the DVD copy that was released in '02, but felt it was worth a buck to save it from obscurity.

Not only that, but I just it really bewildering that sales are so low compared to DVD. For the life of me, I just cannot understand why anyone would buy DVD over Blu-Ray. It's like choosing VHS over DVD.

It's like choosing VHS over DVD. It's because of poor distribution. I live in Canada, and I have never seen a WWE Blu Ray in our Walmart stores. Only the DVD releases. If you want the Blu Ray, you have to order online off various websites that sell Blu Rays. The WWE did a crap job at getting their Blu Rays out there. And when they do make it to a store for us in Canada, they are usually expensive. Like $40 maybe. Give or take. So people will buy the $22.97 DVD at Walmart. Now as for in the USA, I have no clue. Maybe people are just cheap and stick to streaming?? Plus I guess with the WWE Network out, maybe Vince feels they don't need to put out Blu Rays.

Yeah for whatever reason I can never find their blu ray releases at Walmart. Yet every single one of them in DVD form is there.
I either have to go to Best Buy or FYE for them.
And with Best Buy it’s YMMV because a lot of the stores have a shrinking WWE section.

I bought the WWE 30 Years Survivor Series DVD and wow, does that countdown for it suck!
All they do is show the top 30 moments in their opinions, but they don't have any interviews from anyone about what happened.
I swear that the WWE releases have gotten worse ever since the WWE Network came out. Compared to the DVDs we got 10 years ago, these ones just seem to get thrown together fast and have no thought put into them.

Many seem to lack substance, not to mention the subjective nature of the topics usually covered and clear WWE bias that is always infused in them, enforcing their narrative over all else. Adding to that, the matches included are easily found elsewhere, so this set was an easy pass for me.

Its gonna sit on my shelf now and probably never be watched unless the internet somehow goes down, or my computer dies and I can't watch stuff on the Network.
