1. A blow dryer works a lot better than hot water...
2. Put the pin half-way into the leg joint before the kneecap, and then put the two together, and use pliers to connect them.
3. I'd be interested in any elite parts that you have no use for.

This makes dealing with this issue cake It's called a scratch awl! It's made the customizing process less complicated.

Here's what no one ever talks about while explaining the cracking process, heat the torso up! Let it sit in a cup of hot water, get a coffee cup of water , microwave it for 3 minutes, dunk the torso (ready to crack, headless) and let sit for a minute or two. Then while cracking with screwdriver behind the shoulder sockets. The body should come apart very easily and clean. The heat will soften the glue. Try it out, you won't regret it . Works everytime for me . don't you need to take a knife and cut through the neck seam first? Or does heating the torso and using the screw driver behind the shoulders suffice? OMG, No knife needed! I just did this on a Mr.Perfect torso 20 minutes ago, i heated a cup of water for 3 minutes, soaked perfect for a minute or two, then i put a flat end screwdriver behind his shoulder socket and the whole torso came apart with one gentle crack. try it next time u crack a torso, also when i put it back together , i put the torso together dry, then open it a mm and put dabs of superglue between the front and back torso, then close it. if you glue it first its hard as hell to get the pins back in the hole . Just soak the torso in very hot water for a few minutes, then take it out, dry it off with a towel so u dont burn yourself, flat end screwdriver, i dont twist, i just pry and badda bing badda boom still be careful not to break your figure, if it doesnt go right away, heat it up again . 90% of the time i used this method it worked for me , i came across it by accident, i was doing 3 or 4 part swaps and i had a figure soaking in freshly microwaved water to take his head off, i tryed the torso crack and it came apart like nothing and clean as a whistle... ever since then its the only way i do it , but i f'd up a few fix ups by gluing the figure before i put it back together , definetly put the torso together, open a tad , glue , close . hope this helps Also, When i Crack the Torso, I put the screwdriver behind the Shoulder and lift up on the back a little, then i dig the screwdriver in deeper , where its opened a little now between the two torso's so im not tugging on the skin of the back.... in case its ever not heated up enough i dont strech the skin and leave marks.

wow, I've been using hellsinkihellraiser's tutorial and he cuts the neck pin along the seam. I've damaged a neck or two doing this. When I crack my next torso I'll just try boiling and prying with flat head only. Thanka!

Thanks so much for the tips! I also tried cutting the torso at the neck seam before cracking and ended up shredding the shoulder sockets with the screwdriver. I'll take out my Elite victims and continue my custom soon. Thanks again, I really appreciate the walkthrough!

UPDATE!!!
ZombieApoc bro you are 100% correct. I tried boiling both extra Orndorff and Pillman torsos I had in stock and still had doubts it would work, but it did CLEANLY!!! No need to cut the neck, boil em for a good minute or two and pry with a screw driver and they pop out cleanly.
Of course you still have to knife the lower torso to split it, but at least the upper torso neck and pegs aren't destroyed!!
Thanks again for the tip man!

Your Welcome Dude, Im glad it helps . Theres Nothing I hate more than putting a Fix up back together and having cut marks and cracks in between the upper torso. Plus i Love doing it this way because it just peels apart like an orange I Just Dunk them in a Cup of Water Microwaved for 3 Minutes, Just as Hot as Boiled Water, Less Set up, Dont need an oven either . Just Make sure when you put them back together, Do it Dry First, Then pry the torso open a little and glue and close, Because if you glue first the pegs dont want to go all the way back into the holes . Glad I Helped Bro Especially if it means more HD Pics of Legend Fix Ups
