Last night I went to a Hulk Hogan event in Greensboro, NC... called "Hulk Hogan - Back from the Brink". Anyways - Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, and various members of Hogan's family were there. I got to meet all 3 of them, which was cool. I got to talking to Beefcake. Nice guy, very easy to talk to... I had to remind myself that I was talking to a legendary wrestler that I grew up watching. haha! I asked him if Mattel was gonna make a Legends figure of him... his response... "I was in talks with Mattel to make a figure, but I'm pretty sure Vince squashed it." :/ Just thought I'd let y'all know.

It is disappointing. Beefcake was a pretty memorable character in my opinion..
Hopefully Beefcake is just assuming "Vince squashed it"... and they are still planning on doing it up the road.

Vince McMahon seems pretty bi-polar sometimes.
Why squash a Mattel figure of him? He was allowed how many figures when Jakks made them?
Like Macho Man.....never allowed a figure when Jakks had it, but now he's allowing Mattel to make them?
I think this has to do with Vince and Hogan having heat.
Vince is pissed that Hogan went to TNA so he's sticking it to Hogan's friend Beefcake by not allowing him to get the money from the Legends deal.
And it's rumored that Hogan was the one who wanted Macho Man black listed to WWE all those years and as soon as Hogan goes to TNA we get Macho Man figures and DVD's and him in a video game.
This is all due to the Hogan/McMahon feud.

Vince would squash Beefcake all of a sudden but allow Macho? Come on. I find it hard to believe. And wasn't there only one fig Vince said Mattel couldn't make? Like all of a sudden, after Jakks was able to make WWE CS figs, Vince has that much heat with Beefcake?

Hope this gets resolved at some point

There will be a big announcement at the 2014 SDCC. Really this is mattel not jakks with releasing 2 sets of tna figures in nearly a full calender year. Anyways mattel went on record and said over the next year all of the figures in the poll they had will see release in some form so people need to just calm down on mattel because they are doing what they can with legends at least they are still making them and didn't quit after one series like jakks did with the tna legends who have released 6 legends figures in the last nearly 2 years they have had the license.

i know it would most likely never happen, but i would love a legends figure of The Disciple (perhaps in a 3 pack with Hogan and Bischoff). I'd also quite like to see a Booty Man figure (2-pack with Booty Babe!)
not really interested in the Brutus Beefcake character or any other Ed Leslie personas though, since it was before my time.

I would want his figure as the short lived character he had as "The Man With No Name" when he was a in betweener for like a month before he became Zodiac!!

I just finished watching a match with him vs Valentine and thinking how cool a figure Mattel could make him. Hopefully he will get made eventually.
Brutus looks older, but healthy at least. Glad to hear he was cool too!
