After seeing that the globe is still black on the winged eagle from the moc pics of DM5 Bret...Does anybody know what paint I can use to paint the globe blue on the title? And also if I need a sealer over it??

actually.. if you watch In Your House Canadian Stampede it was the 10 man tag.. Bret, Owen, Anvil, Bulldog, Pillman vs. Austin, Shamrock, LOD, and Goldust ha Bret never came out with the title there im not even sure if he had it around that time even.. but yeah the title is just an extra too the piece anyways, because he didnt even have it for that match

Totally forgot about that. Obviously Bret at some point used a black globed winged eagle, Mattel probably put the wrong event on the box. It's happened before where the info is wrong on the back of the DM and Elite boxes. |

I don't care what the event is, THIS is the Bret most of us have been wanting for a long time. Glasses, jacket, flag, title, it's perfect
And yes, at some point the globe in the middle was painted black, although I'm not sure when as it was blue as it was blue on the last night it was used at WM 14

hell yeah i dont even mind really.. im actually happy they gave us the belt they are with the figure.. really makes the mid 90's figures stand out more with it ya know..but yeah i had too do some research cause i was pretty sure that belt was black at one point but then someone said it was to be blue and i didnt think so, and the more i thought about that IYH event i remembered Holy Cow!! that was the infamous 10 man tag where austin was actually the face and his team and they got boo'ed to crap in Calgary AB Canada haha that was the only time i ever seen a entire crowed blow up for the Heel'ish Hart Foundation, especially when Austin was hitting his prime then lol yeah its cool there giving us the belt anyways at least..

Well crud, I was hoping that Mattel was just being super observant with the title and gave the black logo to Bret, but I just noticed that the one that comes with Legends 6 Warrior is also black, which is totally wrong. Hopefully this will get rectified for future releases (like, oh say, with a Shawn Michaels that pairs up with the Bret we're getting)

that whole belt with the warrior was wrong though.. it was not suppose to be a yellow strap either.. but its in the past now. I for one, am just thankful we ever get belts with paint on them, as i remember Jakks wouldnt color any of the belt except gold.. and same with UFC oh and TNA all gold.. so even a little black over the shinier gold we get now is outstanding too me.. besides were really payin for the highly detailed action figure so were real lucky too even get the accessories we do

I think we are all just gonna have to accept the black globe with Bret. As it has been pointed out above, he wasn't even the champion at In Your House 16. So it can be argued that it isn't an error because he did have a black globe at one stage.
However in my opinion we will get more of an idea when the Legends 7 Andre The Giant is released. When he beat Hulk Hogan and then immediately sold the belt to Ted DiBiase, the globe was blue. If that belt has a black globe then I think we have something to talk about. Then I will be of the opinion Mattel have no interest with attention to detail when it comes to the Winged Eagle belt.
My initial thoughts from seeing the Andre proto's is he is also coming with a black globe. I really really hope he doesn't though.

The pic with the bret's belt having the black globe is only the lighting. The globe has looked a shade of dark blue at some points during its 10 year run.. Never black though. I can't find one televised match, even on shotgun saturday night, or even a house show where the belt had a black globe color. 99% of any of the pics of the winged eagle are all with a clear display of the globe being blue. For some ppl I know, it's not a big deal. For me.. it is. Due to the fact that it's my favorite belt of all time, and also because its had the longest run of any wwe title.. 10 years.. 1988-1998.. big eagle- 98-02. undisputed 02-05. Spinner/modified non spinning version.. 05-11. Still needs to be around for 4 more years to tie the winged eagles span. Anyway the whole point of my thread was to know what the best paint is I can use on the belt to color it blue. And if I need a sealer on it after? Lol....
