Sort of looks like Joey Ryan, Anyone else seeing what I'm seeing or am I crazy? Not just you. That definitely bears a resemblance.

Want to get some opinions, after watching the Monday Night War about the cruiserweights I decided I wanted to try and make a Dean Malenko. So after going through the board I've found a few recipes and I wanted to see which one people think is the best. By the way Daniel Bryan arms seem to be a constant in all of these just so you know, so I'll list the parts below Head: CS Dean Malenko Head BAF Shawn Michaels Head Painted W/O pony tail
Base: Legends Stone Cold/British Bulldog body Legends Terry Funk body BAF Daniel Bryan body
Legs: Legends Stone Cold Steve Austin legs Elite 19 Brock Lesnar legs Legends Terry Funk legs with socks removed

What's the recipe? Just a barrett body with Cody boots? Barrett base, cody Rhodes arms & legs. After taking the picture I changed the lower legs out for Barrett's.

What other basic or elite figures had small black knee pads like Stone Cold Steve Austin and Terry Funk? Sheamus, Mason Ryan, and Tyson Kidd. I think you're wrong on Sheamus. The only basics I've seen of his had the full back kneepads.

Lesnar lower legs would be too muscular and Austins are a tad too long. As for torsos, an Austin would be your safest bet, as Dean was a thicker guy. I'm going to use the Axel elite torso on mine, since it's small and lacks much definition. Finally, the head will be tough. The CS head is too big, and the michaels head is close but just not quite right. I've been thinking of getting one of those grip n'flip toybiz Malenkos from eBay for cheap because the head is far less cartoonish that the other wrestlers from that series and it looks to be close to Mattel proportions. Whatever you use, I'm looking forward to seeing it. I love me some cruiser weight customs. Good luck.

That figure came out at a time when my stores got NOTHING from Mattel. And I only was ordering Elites online here and there, so I've literally never seen it in person.

Now that you say Axel I think I might use him just because for some reason Elite Stone Colds have skyrocketed to the price of gold, and I'll probably end up using the HBK head just because I don't own a dremel to hollow it out with. but I'm just surprised Mattel hasn't made one since Malenko is still with the company, or at least on good terms with them.

Did a fix-up Owen Hart recently, but was not too happy about the choice of thighs and the final height of the figure as it turn out. Did another swap of parts this time round. BEFORE: AFTER:

Thanks for all the comments. Here is the recipe i used (some were through trial & error with spare body parts lying around):
Head: heath slater (i was contemplating between kevin erich & heath but went with the latter) Body: DM bret hart Thighs: Elite Ted Dibiase jr Knee & Calves: Elite Ultimate Warrior Boots: Ted jr
