What better way to get into the horror spirit then to watch Kevin Smith's first entry in the genre? Just got Red State. Kind of not sure what to expect here. I loved it. Much more violent than I expected. I recommend Satan Hates You. It's a very unique film filled with blood, drugs and... a Christian message. If that's not enough for you, Angus Scrimm and Reggie Bannister are in it.

The start was a little too slow for my taste and it almost made me lost hope in the film, but once it got going it became one hell of a ride. Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but Hellraiser: Revelations is terrible.

Watched the original Halloween tonight. It doesn't matter how bad the acting is or how many times I see it, I can't seem to get tired of this movie.

'Halloween is one of those "classics" that I've never cared for. Fell asleep twice trying to sit through it.

It's one of those movies that I didn't hold up well over the last 30 years. The dialogue is bad, the clothing and hair is horrible, but once the sun sets it becomes a masterpiece.

Got a couple horror ones out of the way before Monday night....
Hellraiser Revolution - A fun movie and not the worst in the series by far. I couldn't put my finger on what mad it bad bit I think its the camera work. I just didn't care for it. New Pinhead wasn't bad but I felt he tried to play it as Doug Bradly and not himself. 2.5 outta 5 stars
Red State - This movie I have been waiting awhile to see. I must say the first 25-40 minutes drag on a little but once its in the church its gold. I love John Goodman as he is in one of my all time favorite movies, Matinee, and here he does a great job of an agent who is beat down and torn between job and morals. The ending was great and it came out of left field. I was confused at first cause I thought, "Really end it like that" but the swerve of the real answer was great. 4 outta 5 stars
Tucker & Dale VS. Evil - Now this, another movie I had been waiting on, was just fun. Not really a "horror" film but still a bloody good time. Two rednecks go to their newly bought summer home. Meanwhile a group of collage kids are in the same woods camping. A little fun ensues and people start dying. Overall I laughed a decent amount and I think a sequel could work out and still be fun. 3.5 outta 5
Now the one I had been waiting for since I heard of its release.
More Brains: A Return To The Living Dead - Coming from someone who owns and loved Never Sleep Again, His Name Was Jason, and Halloween 25 Years Of Terror, I have had my eye on this one for awhile. Now Return of the Living Dead has to be one of my all time favorite Zombie movies. Its fun and scary through and through. I don't know if it's the Punk music I love, the actors, the story, or that little feeling when the general says "They've turned up in Louisville. I'm getting confirmations on this from the Louisville Police Department" and now directing at the haunted house that is down the street from where the movie "supposedly" was model after. For those of you that aren't from around here that was no where near what Louisville looks like. Anywho this documentary is fun. Alot of stories I had never heard and so over all great interviews, including the last one Dan O'Brain gave before his death. I will tell my favorite story real fast, apparently Clu and Dan got into it on stage one day and Clu chased Dan around with a baseball bat.....WOW. Overall I am glad this came out and its great and fun if your into this movie. 5 outta 5
I hope you all enjoyed this. I know I enjoyed watching them.

Watched most of Sleepy Hollow tonight. Love the look of that movie. Burton based the look of that one on Black Sunday if I'm not mistaken

I watched The Orphan last night and thought it was really good and I just watched a movie called Senseless which was also good but the torture scenes are intense. I had to look away a few times, lol.

Just secured some passes for Martha Marcy May Marlene on Halloween. Not sure if its considered horror, but it looks pretty messed up and interesting!

I watched Paranormal Activity 2 a couple of nights ago with a friend. I don't think it was nearly as good as the first, but the scene with the dog and the scene where all of the cabinet doors flew open freaked me out something fierce.
I dug the FALCON PUNCH at the end though. Those two deserved it, doing what they did to Katie.
