i think that the internet is kinda killing collecting..
you see a post that someone , somewhere found the new line... you go looking for it.. dont find it.. get bummed , pissed and anxious ...
news gets posted , you see the line up or protos months before the series comes out... the excitement of seeing them the first time in store or for order on an online shop is now gone...
i still love collecting.. im 29, and still get giddy when i go to TRU or shop around on spamS..

Nah....it's not getting boring. It's getting frustrating because certain things are taking so long to hit stores, but I guess that's just part of the game now.
But yesterday I found Elite 11 CM Punk and Elite 11 Wade Barrett at a real scary K-Mart in a part of town where lots of murders happen, and I have DM Bret Hart on its way from Mattelshop and it should be here Monday or Tuesday....so I'm still finding ways to get what I want.
For all the frustration and all the driving around and being disappointed on most trips, the only figure I want that I haven't been able to find yet is Elite 10 Big Show. I'm sure I'll find it eventually and it will be an awesome feeling when I do.

Im not really that bored with it.. I only started to collect back in March this year and there is still a bunch of guys that are out that i need, plus Elite 12 coming in, and Elite 13 gonna be goin up for pre order. I pay my own bills and live on my own so i like the rate Mattel is doin things at.. i get too pay my bills up and pick up figures. If they dropped them any faster i would def not be able too keep up

I have to admit, I am bored with collecting. It's not just WWE figures, but I have lost my passion for collecting in general. Maybe its my age. I turned 40 this year and maybe collecting toys was a way to make me feel young and try to recapture the excitement of my youth. I now realize that just isn't going to happen and I feel silly with all these toys. I don't have space to display them so everything has just been sitting in boxes for years. Over the last few months I have sold off all my vintage toys and most recent ones as well. I still have my Mattel WWE figures but I am not sure I will keep them either. Maybe I am just in a funk.

i'm bored with collecting right now because most of the roster have already been released. i only have a few wrestlers to look forward to. when i collect figures, new characters have always been what drives me to continue collecting. but nowadays, it just seems like too many repaints are filling all the new lineups. also, the rising prices are keeping me from being a completist as well. when it gets to the point where basics costs as much as elites and elites cost as much as defining moments, i'm gonna severely limit what i buy.

My collection desire is going because I have plenty of figures. Like about 100.

Yes
Mainly because of the lack of legends. And being a monday-night-wars era fan, most of the legends they have made are too old-school for my liking.
Also the lack of availability of legends in the UK is another factor. cos UK stores don't stock them, they end up costing way too much for me to import.

It's not really boring, but just VERY frustrating. Right now, I'm so freaking ticked off. There is not one place in Chicago that has E11. Jesus Christ..

Yes. I've practically quit for the reasons The Assassin has stated. I haven't bought a single figure for over 5 months.
I'm bored of the lack of news. Bored of the lack of legends. Bored of the extortionate prices on Wrestlingworld. I'm bored of collecting.
The only thing I'm holding out for is a late 90's HBK figure, and the way Mattel answers questions makes me believe that figure will not be coming for a LONG time.

I'm with you.I miss The good old jakks days. The good thing about Jakks is the figures consistently came out. You would wait a couple weeks, head to the stores - new figs. Now, with Mattel, you never know. Today, tomorrow, next month, a year from now in some discount store, who knows? It's so erratic it takes away from the fun.

for me, it just sucks that i can't find crap in canada anywhere. it'd be more fun if i could just go into a store and buy it, rather than online.

I grew up during the 80s & 90s & haven't watched WWE or TNA in a very long time. It no longer appeals to me, which is why I only collect the Legends line. I used to practically freak out when I found a new Legends figure (usually because I had been waiting and/or searching around for it for a while), but I've now found almost all of Series 1-5.
I suppose, in a way, my excitement with collecting the Legends line has sort of waned with Mattel's interest in producing the Legends line. Don't get me wrong - releasing them on MattyCollector is better than scrapping the line altogether, & I hope they do well so that Mattel will continue to produce them & maybe even bring them back to retail. But for now, I'll wait for L6.

I can't afford to be bored right now, heheh! I love these new WWE figures but the rising prices are starting to alarm me. I'm already cutting off the Rumblers, even though they're cool. If we were getting new figures every few weeks, I wouldn't be able to keep up anymore. I like the current schedule, it's a good pace for me.
I like collecting online too. The "thrill of the hunt" isn't so thrilling anymore when I just want to find something new but stores are slow to stock up and I'm only wasting gas. For me the thrill of the hunt has been replaced by the thrill of anticipation. Debut Kane and Papa Shango are coming soon, 2-packs are now getting accessories, the new packaging looks cool, and I can't wait for Vickie and the updated Ezekiel to arrive. Hints of new Flashbacks and Titantron playsets, while vague, still give me something to look forward to.
I'm glad people report figure sightings here too. It makes it much easier to determine when and where I should go searching. I would've missed out on the WM27 Elites if I didn't read about it here. Now I only see Kofi's warming the pegs. The Elimination Chamber just came out when I thought it'd be another month or so. Also, I wouldn't even know about Flash Rey, Masked Kane, SES Punk, or Macho King if it wasn't for this forum. This place is a real blessing for collectors; Imagine how out-of-the-loop we'd be if we only went off of what the stores have or know! Like the GI Joe's said, "Knowing is half the battle!"

Yeah, I don't want to be misunderstood. I absolutely LOVE Mattel's product, but I hate how hard it is to access them. I know, in the case of the UK, that it's not really Mattel's fault. I do, however, wish I didn't have to pay £30 for DM figures on wrestlingworld (approx $46). It's ridiculous, and they are not worth that kind of money.
I just want an HBK in the flashbacks series that I actually get my hands on. DM is pretty much a no-go for me because for the same price I could buy a 12inch figure from Play Arts Kai.

I havnt gotten bored with collecting, just with figure hunting. between all the chum-lees, the repackagers, and the paople who steal accesories, it seems like it takes forever to get the figure i need.
