This mattel Michael Cole build a figure is TRUE...and he is very EASY to put together....Bill disassembled him and reassembled him in 15 seconds...He is similiar but not the same as an elite, because his joints are easily popable...we either get Cole as a BAF or not at all...
All u people who think "he would sell he would sell" go to your local TRU and look at all the amazing top name figures rotting on the shelves..like DM ricky steamboat, Macho Man, HHH, HBK....and you think more than just a couple hundred collector people would buy michael Cole?
are you serious bro?
the base WWE consumer (kids with parents) are not going to buy Cole, just we are, and thats the truth unfortunately

at 0.5 or even 0.25, he would sell, collectors and scalpers would field day it.
They over-produced DM, I speak for myself and maybe others but I was expecting a harder time finding them - altho Bret looks popular and HBK was too, they appeared in most US stores and well-stocked up on ebay and our importer site here and still in US stores because they over-produced and stuck a ridiculous price tag on them.
Why should we pay £70/$60(!!??!) for one Michael Cole?
That I think is the main gripe. Sure collectors may want the other four figs anyway but there is great reason not to buy them for many with E12 DB, E14 re-release(!?!) of Cena (...the guy gets booed, they know why right?..), too similar repaint of H - redeemed only for me by the gear he comes with, gremlin Bret. And yes the collectors are the only ones who may want him, but he is exposed up the wazoo on TV, similarly to Vickie G if not more over.
Kids know who he is and this isn't flex force.
Hell, a quick Shopzone exc twopack of RAH Cena & Cole would sell, out.
It is milking the ones who want one. Collectors. So many ways to release him, I bet they plan on doing one regardless later in the line. It's poor, greedy, I hate it.

Why should we pay £70/$60(!!??!) for one Michael Cole? The other side of that coin is, why should Mattel pay tens of thousands to have thousands of Michael Coles rotting on shelves everywhere? Like the guy above said... It's either Michael Cole this way or no Michael Cole at all. Mattel is learning slowly but surely that putting out figures at mass retail that are only going to be bought by us is a fool's errand. I'd be annoyed having to buy four figures I don't want to get a figure I want, but that's the nature of being a niche collector who wants the niche items. Fortunately, I really want all of those WM Elites anyway.

You dont have to buy all the figures for a Michael Cole. BAF parts can easily be found on ebay for $5 shipped. The guy would be the biggest shelfwarmer if he was released as a regular figure.

Only unpopular pieces of BAF go $5 shipped. There should be a lot of Cole pieces produced but nobody really knows the demand for them.

I like the idea, Mattel can see if all the figures sell well then maybe Cole is wanted. But if some figs in the set don't then it was wise to do BAF.
I think it adds a bit of fun to it, I would probably buy all the figures beside Bret (would prbably get him anyway after a while) and it's like getting a free figure. It adds a bit of chase back to collecting, a bit of incentive to get the whole set.

The other BAFs (build-a-figures) from DC were all pretty good at not falling apart (other than the 1st one from the DC series - Metamorpho and Brimstone). The rest stayed together pretty well.

Do you see figures of Skip Sheffield, Divas, Heath Slater, or others who supposed to be considered unpopular everytime you go to the store? If Cole was released he would probably sell really well since its the first figure of Cole to be released.

The decision to make him a build a figure is genius, i just wish it wasn't TRU exclusive. I'll have to get someone on here to help me get them all. If anybody thinks Cole would sell well, just look back at the Joey Styles figure EVERYBODY wanted.

I really hope that John Cena comes with the legs, so I can just sit Cole down at the announce table and not notice missing legs...lol because I want every figure in the line except Cena, because I think his Elite version is better.

I have no problem with this being a BAF, it's simple... if you only want the Michael cole figure just go to ebay but i personally rather have all the figures plus the Michael Cole!!! The fact that we get obscure characters it's what's great about this line!!!

The biggest problem I see with making BAFs is that they release too many repaints of Cena, Orton, Taker, Mysterio, & others and we have to buy the whole set to complete the BAF. Ahhh,ha thats the Idea

In most areas, the figures that are shelf warming are those that are expensive (DMs) or have been released several times (Cena, HHH, Taker, Mysterio, Orton). I have no doubt that Cole would do just as well as other figures that have been short packed. Of course he would rot on the shelves if there was 2 or 3 of them in each case, but at 1 per case or 1 every other case, he would sell fine.

I think there is an opportunity to package an announcer/manager/WWE GM/official in two packs, either as exclusives or as a part of a series.
JR/Cena and Cole/Del Rio are two that immediately come to mind that I think would sell fairly well at retail.
Laurenitis/Punk Teddy Long/Ryder HHH in a suit/Kevin Nash Booker T in commentary gear/Cody Rhodes
You really don't think one of these short packed every 2-3 2-pack series would sell at retail?
I definitely do.

God some people will complain about anything. I love the BAF idea, and hope we see more of em.

We're lucky we only have to buy 4 figures. Most BAFs are broken up into 6 pieces.

I collect all the Elites anyway, so the BAF is a cool, extra bonus that I appreciate. C'mon, who doesn't want to see Michael Cole hacked up as if he were in an episode of Dexter? Heheh!
IMO, this 2nd WM set is better than the first one and a nice surprise! Warrior King Triple H looks basass, Red Cena is a necessary update to complete the Fruity Pebbles series, an updated Daniel Bryan in another signature attire isn't a waste, and a modern Bret Hart is perfect for anyone who wants to put together their own "Evolution of the Hitman" collection!
Another thing worth noting is that Mattel didn't skimp out on the accessories in order to provide the pieces of Cole. We're still getting all the Elite accessories on top of putting together a free figure. If this strategy is successful, I'd love to see a Referee, COO Triple H, John Laurinaitis, Suited Booker, JR, Teddy Long, and Ricardo Rodriguez BAF's. I'd be willing to put up with a few repaints in order to get any of those figures in my collection!

I love the BAF idea - especially for "non-wrestlers" like Michael Cole that probably wouldn't sell well at retail... I'm hoping they make more BAF commentators and managers in the future (Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross, Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan etc.) - it would be great!
