That's exactly what I see them doing after next year. If the line is a failure (and I personally think it will be) they will blame it on us saying "hey we let you pick in the poll who you wanted so it's your fault you didn't buy them". Yet countless times we told them the poll was broken and they didn't even bother to acknowledge it. Not to mention the wrestlers in the poll were not the greatest selections for legends. Imagine if Yoko, Bossman and King Booker were included? Just saying... Personally, I thought the wrestler selection on the poll was pretty good...I want them all. I'm happy that Yokozuna, Bossman, and King Booker are Flashbacks that we'll be seeing in a few weeks rather than Legends that would be confirmed maybe a year from now. If it wasn't for the Flashbacks, I'd feel a lot more deprived of classic wrestlers! I think Mattel is doing a good job balancing the Legends/Flashbacks. The higher-profile names work better at retail and the more obscure choices make sense as internet exclusives. Sure, Andre and Papa Shango could've been switched but I can understand that they don't want to risk too much during this crucial first year. Right now, I see the Legends situation more as a result of the current economy than lack of collector interest. Mattel is taking care of themselves as a business while still giving us Legends, Exclusives, Flashbacks, and Basic Heritage figures during these tough times. Imagine what they could do if things were better, financially, for everyone!

Well we're at least guaranteed the 6 figures next year regardless of how they sell. I hope they do well but this doesn't seem like it's going to sell out in a matter of days like the MOTU stuff does. I did my part, I ordered 2, 1 for a friend that otherwise wouldn't have access to them, so they better not come at us when the online sales are a failure and say "You should've bought more"! Yeah, DDP, Arn Anderson, and Tully Blanchard are underwhelming choices. King Kong Bundy is meh but Elizabeth is a good choice for a Legend. There is no way in hell that the above guys legitimately got voted for over Demolition Crush and Doink. Maybe I'm picky, but why a heel Bossman rather than face Bossman?

Why you guys love clowns is beyond my comprehension. Matt Borne/Steve Keirn were terrific technical wrestlers, but I guess 'Doink' is the culmination of the 3-ring circus Vince was running circa '93 2. Heel Bossman is the natural choice since we got Akeem the African Dream jive turkey!

Guys, I really don't think we have much to worry about with the Legends line. Just by judging from these boards alone, there is a lot of buzz about this set and all the others. I'm sure that there are 100's of other collectors that don't post here. These are selling well enough to continue making them. I doubt that. Mattel has said for an item to be successful on Matty Collector they need it to sell out in minutes. Not days or hours but minutes. The fact that it has been for sale for nearly three hours as of this posting and it has yet to even see an almost gone image put up is not a great sign in the eyes of Mattel.

Well, I sure hope these do move as I'd like to be ordering more Legends in the future into 2012. Me, too, but $40 with shipping is pretty pricey. I can see a lot of folks passing on these, leaving them only to the hardcore collectors. The $23 MattelShop deal was much nicer! I ordered 2 of them, with shipping to Belgium that was $75.55. Converting to euros that's €55.58 or €27.79/piece; a lot cheaper than I'd pay over here in a store for a 2-pack!

I think the mattelshop fiasco didn't help today though.

Doink was an entertaining character in both face and heel forms in my opinion. Plus his figure would stand out a lot more being bright and colorful than say a guy like Anderson or Blanchard.

Comparing wrestlers will get you no where, it's all about personal preference.

Personally I cound't disagree more I found nothing entertaining about Doink. I hope the guys want him get him get one from Mattel, but that's a figure I would never purchase. I don't even think I'd take it as the free figure in a buy 2 get 1 free sale.

yeah this was way easier now then it use to be. I was an avid he-man collector and subscriber and it was a nightmare which is why I subscribed in the first place, then when the subscriptions went to hell with crap most don't want and obscurities I was all too happy to get back into buying what I want off the website and looking forward to the legends lines.
Got on right at 9am "just in case" and was in and out in no time. They still have the white screen of death though... the other day for the big dc sale was jamming the servers so i'd still get there early.
Can't wait for brain busters and elizabeth!

I'm surprised that the Rockers didn't sell out by now. Usually stuff on Matty sells out if you're not on the site at exactly 12PM. I've ordered some Ghostbusters figures on Matty a while back and Usually they put you in the queue or as some call it the white screen of doom, due to high site traffic.

Like others have stated, this is a matter of preference. I care less about Doink. I am very happy we are getting Arn and Tully, and quite disappointed we are not getting a Windham to go with them. I would buy a Crush and Doink (he would look good), but I don't care if we never get him.

I'm just not buying this whole argument that Doink is colourful and will sell well. Last I checked the Legends line is strictly on mattycollector.com, not retail, so unless kids are spending their days surfing mattycollector.com and looking at the tiny images they provide - I'm not sure how this colourful clown is appealing to the masses and will instantly sell well.

I'd buy a Doink figure, especially heel Doink, or maybe face, if he's with Dink. He always entertained me, and even looking back now, the stuff Borne did with the gimmick was pretty great.
That said, he's far from my first choice. Three of my choices made it into the top 5, so I'm happy. I just hope we get guys like Magnum, Windham, and Muraco down the road. Really, I want everyone who was in that vote. I wish they'd put out the numbers for everyone, I really want to know who got so few votes that they're not even going to bother with in the future.

Super-easy. Now, I am just waiting to hear back about my Mattelshop.com order. Hoping they cancel it now. lol My order got canceled Fri from mattelshop.com.. I called my card today, money was still not returned on it so i spoke too a rep.. she said i wont get that money back for 30 days that is ridiculous!!! thankfully i got more money together over the weekend too order the mattycollector.com ones. I rather just deal with mattycollector and pay the extra price on figs rather than deal with that lame b.s mattelshop pulled fri with my card

I paid $40.55 for mine. Wonder why mine was $4 cheaper than everyone elses?
Doink was a big part of wrestling in the early 90's. Sure he was not a title holder or nothing, but the dude had a great feud going with Crush, Macho Man, Jerry The King Lawler etc the guy was a definite mid carder and fan favorite. Not too mention EVERYONE all over the world knows Doink. I personally can not wait too get a mattel version of Doink in my collection. A collection is just not a collection with out him haha
umm.. its not just kids who like Doink. I was a kid when i watched doink and im 26 now. Hell my dad is 55 and he got a kick outta doinks antics. As i said before, Doink played a big part in the early 90's WWF times and he is well known world wide. If you ask ppl if they watch pro wrestling and they say yes or no, and you ask if they know Doink The Clown, 9/10 there gonna say yes! He has a better shot of selling then most the old 70's characters sitting on the shelves (pending on who they are that is).
