I don't see how they can make this without WWE and Benoit's family giving them approval. They would have to do it genericly which will make this suck more than it's already going to. That being said, it hasn't even been 100% proven yet that Benoit committed the double murder/suicide, nor have most of the details of this case been proven.

This won't get very far, WME also reps WWE, they're aware what it could do to a big client of their's.

straight to dvd... and no one but wrestling fans will watch it... Kind of like a WWE Films/Samuel Goldwyn Entertainment production?

JR has commented about this movie possibly made. twitter.com/#!/JRsBBQ/status/143012441620611072 While this can do nothing but further harm the reputation Pro Wrestling already has after this whole Benoit situation, I honestly don't see it ever actually getting made; and if it does, it'll be extremely bad and low budget like that Andre The Giant flick a few years back.Damn you for reminding me of that atrocity

Wow... This isn't good for WWE, Vince is probably sweating in his private jet right now.

Fantastic. A flim that makes judgements on everything that's wrong with wrestling, when in fact, the people making this will know very little and assume that because Benoit did what he did that all wrestlers are serial killing maniacs just waiting to snap. These people are vile creatures trying to profit from the very thing they condemn wrestling for causing. The book that would be used as the basis was pretty much a book about how the wrestling industry creates broken human beings. They used Dynamite Kid as an introduction to the lifestyle of drugs, steroids and painkillers leading to a broken body and mind and bridge over to Dynamite being Benoit's favorite wrestler and a model for his career. Then it follows Benoit through his days in the Japanese wrestling dojo which really are infamous for their treatment of students and prospects. After that Chris ends up in WCW where Hall, Nash and Hogan regularly mock, humiliate and psychologically torture him. After enough of that Chris goes to WWF where he has to overcome the Vanilla Midget label and deal with the McMahons who are a close-nit family of crazy people who run an asylum. The book barely deals with the long standing issues of Nancey and Benoit's troubles, the rumor of her child neglect and abuse as well as Chris's increasing paranoia and abusive ways. The book tries to say what happened was a result of broken people being pumped full of drugs to succeed while being tortured to state of madness.

I was a huge Benoit fan and I have no interest in seeing it. I try to forget it ever happened.

There is no way he could have done. I mean he was a great wrestler after all..........
But seriously, I'm not sure if anyone would pay to see this. Even wrestling fans. We all remember when this happened and I'm sure most of us don't want to see it again on a big screen.

Get ready for the public to hate wrestling again. How can you "again" when you do NOW!? AAHH!!!! Actually you are giving the impact of some dude's movie too much credit.

I have that book, and it is pretty much an attack against the business. Regardless, I think this will probably be straight-to-DVD or a TV movie, so I don't think the business will suffer much from it.

That alone instantly shuts out any rational, logical theory arguing that he didn't do it. Yet I'm fully anticipating this thread to grow by 6 more pages before it's locked due to arguing. But at least we'll get to see some of WF's finest, most decorated investigators who have never taken a day of Criminal Justice training in their lives, explaining to us how those lazy pigs just took the easy way out and refused to do any real police work as per usual. I bet they sat there and ate donuts while Kevin Sullivan did poor Chris in. Here, proof - stupidinvalidconspiracywebsite.com

Unless there's solid evidence that Benoit himself did it, than I don't have to believe anything. I'm not saying he didn't do it because more than likely did, but I refuse to actually think that until it's 100% proven. Just because there's no evidence that somebody else could have done it doesn't mean that wasn't the case. People will agrue all day on this, but until there's 100% factual evidence, that proves it was Benoit beyond any reasonable doubts, I don't have to think that he actually did it.
