Live on the USA Network - Monday 2nd January 2012 - Memphis, Tennessee |
The opening signature for the WWE aired, followed by the opening video package for the RAW Supershow. Cutting to the live AllState Arena, pyrotechnics go off, and Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler introduce us to the first episode of RAW in 2012!

The theme of R-Truth to kick off the RAW Supershow in a powered way, R-Truth making his way down to the ring as he seemed highly enthusiastic to be back in the WWE! The WWE Universe cheered him as he stood in the middle of the ring and yelled that the Truth had set him free! R-Truth told the fans that he told everyone how he wanted everybody to know that he wasn't the real bad guy; the Little Jimmy was the bad guy, and that Little Jimmy turned out to be The Miz! The Memphis crowd cheered him on, as he told everyone how he knew there was something about that Little Jimmy, but he didn't realize it was the Miz until he was face-first on that rampway! But he's back, and he still wants all of the glory and the fame, but more importantly, he wants to kick Miz's little measly ass! The WWE Universe were hanging onto his every word as he called out the Miz.
The Miz's theme then hit, and out came the "Awesome One" himself, Miz making his way out to the ring as he told R-Truth that it wasn't him who was the Little Jimmy, it WAS R-Truth himself! Miz told R-Truth that he was the one holding the Awesome Truth back; he cost them the WWE Tag Team Championships, he cost them dominance in the WWE. They could have ran the company at its threshold, but then Miz realized how R-Truth was as useful as a blind man in traffic! The WWE Universe booed Miz as he told R-Truth that it was Miz pulling all of the strings, making all of the decisions. R-Truth? A mere assistance that let him down! Miz told R-Truth that he tried to make a joke called R-Truth, and tried to turn him into something great, something credible, and all he got out of it was more jokes! Miz told R-Truth that he didn't deserve glory, attention, any of that. But The Miz main evented WrestleMania, he won what R-Truth hasn't, the WWE Championship! R-Truth got angrier and angrier as he told Miz that he had had enough of Miz's small talk, because he wanted to face Little Jimmy right here tonight! The fans cheered but Miz shrugged and told him no! Miz told R-Truth that he could face him in a few weeks at the Royal Rumble, if he wanted. But tonight, Miz has other plans! The crowd booed Miz as R-Truth told Miz that he didn't care; he'd hunt him down if he had to! Suddenly, John Laurinaitis' voice was heard amongst boos, telling the two to stop arguing, because he has a way to resolve everything; a match between the two at the Royal Rumble. Tonight? He has ideas for both of them! He announced that R-Truth would be in action against the "All American-American" Jack Swagger, and The Miz in just a few minutes, would be going one on one with the World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan! The WWE Universe cheered, as Laurinaitis left, Miz looking angry.
~~~~~ Commercial Break ~~~~~
Daniel Bryan def. The Miz: A hot opening contest, as these two had a well documented rivalry dating back to the first season of NXT, as The Miz was the Pro of Rookie, Daniel Bryan; the two having bad blood for so long throughout. But that soon led to Bryan becoming the WWE United States Champion, defeating Miz. Bryan was now World Heavyweight Champion, and he fought like one as well tonight. Miz tried to belittle Bryan, hammering away at him confidently, as the "Awesome One" worked away at the shoulder of Bryan, just for Bryan to keep coming back at him. Bryan soon nailed his running knee in the corner, and then proceeded to go for the LeBell Lock just for Miz to squirm out. Miz tried to leave the ring and get himself counted out, but R-Truth suddenly appeared from the backstage area, dragging Miz right back into the ring, where Bryan locked in the LeBell Lock, R-Truth glaring at Miz through the ropes, and Miz tapped out! **1/4
Daniel Bryan celebrated his win to cheers, as the World Heavyweight Champion had just defeated his former mentor, The Miz once again! R-Truth then climbed into the ring as he delivered the What's Up once again to R-Truth! R-Truth couldn't wait to face Miz at the Royal Rumble, in three weeks!
We go to John Laurinaitis' office as Laurinaitis was shown talking to Drew McIntyre about how he's thinking about drafting him to SmackDown. McIntyre looked angry at this, as Laurinaitis tells him that he feels like he's not achieving that much on the RAW brand. McIntyre tells him that it's because he's never even allowed to compete on this show! Drew tells Laurinaitis that he can take RAW and shove it, because he'll be kicking himself about letting him go to SmackDown, and he wins the World Heavyweight Championship! McIntyre left, whilst CM Punk entered, the Straight Edge WWE Champion asking Laurinaitis why the numb-skull asked him into his office tonight. Laurinaitis informs Punk that he got lucky last Monday on RAW against The Miz. Punk questions this, as Laurinaitis tells Punk that he's going to let it slide, because in three weeks he'd be competing at the Royal Rumble, defending that WWE Championship. Punk told him to continue, as Mr Laurinaitis told Punk that tonight he's giving Alberto Del Rio an opportunity to redeem himself, and by that he means if he manages to beat Triple H, he will have a rematch with Punk for his WWE Championship at the Rumble. Punk grins, telling him that he'd love to beat his burrito-greased ass one more time.
~~~~~ Commercial Break ~~~~~

AJ and Alicia Fox def. Beth Phoenix and Natalya: A pretty competitive match tonight on the RAW Supershow, as Alicia Fox has recently taken AJ under her wing, and this is good for AJ considering that she picked up a huge win over the WWE Divas Champion, Beth Phoenix last Monday night. AJ used her kicks to take Natalya down, as Alicia Fox took care of the "Glamazon", Fox then being nailed with the Glam Slam; whilst AJ ran in with a wheelbarrow bulldog on Natalya to get the win! *
AJ celebrated her win to cheers, as Natalya rolled out of the ring, Alicia Fox joining AJ. Beth Phoenix meanwhile looked angry, as she ran at AJ just to walk into a dropkick from AJ! The former NXT Rookie had embarrassed the WWE Divas Champion again tonight.

Dolph Ziggler was shown walking down the corridor, and up next we will hear from the man himself about this situation with Jack Swagger! Ziggler speaks out, next.

~~~~~ Commercial Break ~~~~~
Alberto Del Rio was shown in the backstage area with Ricardo Rodriguez and Josh Mathews, as Mathews mentioned to Del Rio about his match tonight with Triple H; asking Alberto why he interrupted Triple H last Monday night on RAW. Del Rio told Josh that it was all about the logic. Del Rio talked about how he wanted to make his mark and he did; Del Rio has done it all in the WWE, all in such short time, and he's been on a losing streak to peeons for several weeks now. Well after tonight, everybody in that arena will realize who Alberto Del Rio truly is when rips that arm out of Triple H's socket!
Dolph Ziggler's theme hit as the crowd booed, the "Show-Off" making his way out to the ring looking slightly dissatisfied, Ziggler making his way down to the ring as Ziggler looked slightly out of place without Vickie Guerrero or Jack Swagger behind him. Ziggler got a microphone and was met with boos from the WWE Universe, as Ziggler explained how things have been confusing for him as of late, and he's not liked it that much at all. Ziggler talks about how he's here to show everyone what he can do, love him or hate him, and honestly if it takes people to boo him for his arrogance; so what. He then calls Jack Swagger and Vickie Guerrero out to the ring, as he was met with Vickie's voice ("EXCUSE ME!") to thunderous boos. Guerrero told Dolph that it was nothing personal, but she's with Jack now, and it's because her business with Ziggler has ended. Ziggler lost the WWE United States Championship, then lost his match with CM Punk; that was the last straw! Swagger then took the microphone and told Ziggler that he was washed up, and he was washed up quickly. But with Swagger, he still had it all in him, and Vickie noticed it herself. Ziggler told Swagger that if Vickie wasn't there, he'd knock him on his ass right now, but Swagger shoved Ziggler! This caused Ziggler to fire back, and the two traded blows, Guerrero watching on from the corner; Swagger sending Ziggler into the ropes and delivering a belly-to-belly suplex! Swagger taunted to the crowd and went over to Vickie, but suddenly Ziggler got up and delivered the ZigZag! Ziggler rolled out of the ring to a mixed reaction, as suddenly the theme of R-Truth hit, and he came down to the ring!
R-Truth def. Jack Swagger (w/Vickie Guerrero): The "All American-American" was caught off guard as this match began, R-Truth continuing where Dolph Ziggler left off, several lefts and rights to Swagger, then going to finish Swagger off quickly with the scissors kick, just for Swagger to come out to the floor to rethink a strategy. ~Commercial Break~. R-Truth was then worked over as Swagger sent R-Truth into the ring steps, then almost having the win with a German suplex. Swagger seemed anxious to end it, preparing a Gutwrench Powerbomb, but R-Truth slipped out and turned it into the What's Up for the win! **
R-Truth celebrated his win, as he seemed ready to get to The Miz at the Royal Rumble; whilst Vickie Guerrero aided to Jack Swagger. Meanwhile, Dolph Ziggler was shown backstage, laughing at the fact that Vickie's new sole client had just lost! R-Truth then picked up a microphone, telling Miz that Little Jimmy was knocking on R-Truth's door, and when R-Truth opens that door, Little Jimmy is gonna know what's up! R-Truth then quacked several times before leaving through the crowd.
~~~~~ Commercial Break ~~~~~

We return to RAW as Zack Ryder was shown standing around on his cell phone, telling someone that he'd see them after the show, because the WWE United States Champion has some business to take care of first. John Cena then approached Ryder to a huge mixed reaction, Cena asking Ryder if he was ready for his match. Ryder told Cena that he was, then telling John that he wanted to thank him again for allowing him to challenge for the title, just by helping him defeat Mark Henry a few weeks back. Cena told him not to mention it, John wishing Zack luck in his match.

Primo (w/Epico and Rosa Mendes) def. Evan Bourne (w/Kofi Kingston): This was another great opportunity for Primo to try and secure a pinfall victory on behalf of himself and Epico over the WWE Tag Team Champions, Air Boom. Evan Bourne definitely wasn't easy to take down though, as he flew around the ring with hurricanranas and dropkicks, Primo however managing to catch up and take Bourne out with a kick to the spine as he was on the second rope. Primo worked away at Evan, just for Bourne to fire back and take Primo down, setting him up for the Air Bourne, but Epico got on the apron and distracted the referee whilst Rosa Mendes shoved Bourne off of the top rope! Kofi Kingston and Epico got into a brawl at ringside, whilst Primo hit Bourne with a Backstabber for the win! **1/4
Primo and Epico scurried away from ringside as Kofi Kingston sped into the ring, Kingston aiding to Evan Bourne whilst Rosa Mendes seductively joined Primo and Epico on the rampway, these two young Puerto-Ricans having made a name for themselves in the tag team division once again.

~~~~~ Commercial Break ~~~~~
Zack Ryder def. Curt Hawkins (w/Tyler Reks): This was a surprise, as the WWE United States Champion, Zack Ryder took on his former partner Curt Hawkins, now accompanied by his current partner, Tyler Reks. Hawkins seemed confident going into it, as Ryder started off strong, but Hawkins knew Ryder well, and Hawkins started to fire back, starting with a superkick out of nowhere. Hawkins continued his attack on Ryder with some ruthless forearms and boots to the face, Hawkins quickly signalling for Taste the Pain just for Ryder to get out of it and nail the Rough Ryder for the win! **
Kane's theme hit instead of Zack Ryder, and the lights suddenly reddened, as the "Big Red Monster" began to make his way out to the ring! Zack Ryder looked petrified as Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks quickly left for the back to avoid Kane's wrath. Kane grabbed Ryder by the throat, and gave him a Chokeslam right out of the ring! The WWE United States Champion was down and out, as Kane followed Ryder out, kicking apart the ring steps and then delivering a Tombstone Piledriver on Ryder, right on the steps! John Cena quickly ran out after him, trading blows with the monster, but Kane was too strong, sending Cena right down with Ryder! Kane left, pleased with himself.
We cut to the backstage area as Triple H was shown making his way for the ring, and up next, the "Cerebral Assassin" will be in action in our main event, facing Alberto Del Rio, next!
The End Begins.
An advertisement aired, promoting the Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, January 29th from St Louis, Missouri.
Alberto Del Rio (w/Ricardo Rodriguez) vs Triple H (w/CM Punk); no contest: A hard hitting main event lined up tonight, as CM Punk was definitely here to watch on, coming out with Triple H to watch his former adversary compete against the man that could potentially be facing Punk for the WWE Championship in a few weeks at the Royal Rumble. Triple H took it to Alberto Del Rio in the opening moments, as the Mexican Aristocrat was given a number by Hunter, the "Cerebral Assassin" kicking his ass, the facebuster, the spinebuster and the running high knee all taking Del Rio down with force. Triple H wanted to make short work of Del Rio until we cut to the backstage area, where Stephanie McMahon was shown reading a book. Triple H looked confused, and Del Rio jumped Triple H, taking him out of the ring. Del Rio sent Hunter shoulder first into the ring post, and then applied the Cross Armbreaker outside of the ring! CM Punk clotheslined Ricardo Rodriguez, then going after Del Rio until being stopped by the HD tron. NOW. **
Chris Jericho's theme hit, and out came Y2J himself, Jericho making his way down the rampway, suddenly taking CM Punk down and applying the Walls of Jericho! Alberto Del Rio refused to let go of the Cross Armbreaker; Jericho releasing the Walls of Jericho! Del Rio and Jericho stood tall in a strange coalition, as RAW went off the air.
