Foo Fighters
Dave Grohl is sort of a dying breed imo. He is the pure definition of a musician and just one of the greatest lyricists of all time if you ask me. They do everything from amped to poetic and I can listen to pretty much every album they have put out from start to finish. Additionally, I think they have gotten better over time, like considerably better. Plus, I was a massive Nirvana fan growing up so I feel like I have followed Grohl, as a fan, for the large majority of his career.
Nirvana, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Something Corporate/Jack's Man, Escape the Fate, Theory of a Deadman, and Silverchair are all right in there as well for me. Jack Johnson, but he isn't a band per se. I'm pretty habitual when it comes to music, if it's good, then I will probably run into the ground listening to it. I do enjoy newer music, and I listen to a little bit of everything but I largely still listen to the same things I have been listening to for years.

I don't care if I get made fun of or whatever, but it's Twisted Sister. They've been my favorite since I was about 4 or 5 years old. I still have their classic "Stay Hungry" LP record. Man, that brings back some good memories...

believe it or not, my favorite band is the Cardigans. Yup, 90's one-hit wonder "Lovefool" the Cardigans. Nina Persson's voice is amazing and Peter Svensson is an amazing musician/songwriter. I love how their style has progressed over the years. My favorite album (though it is a little bit of a downer) is Long Gone Before Daylight. Gran Turismo (yeah, like the game) is also a great album... Google "My Favorite Game", cool video.

As you can tell by the name...Queen. Pure musical brilliance, really too much to put into words...just listen... The voice of Mercury, the guitar of May, the melodies, the harmonies, perfect music in my opinion. You are awesome!

Lostprophets.
They are a fellow welsh band but that isn't really the reason I like them. Up until the last year or so there's never really been a band that's truely appealed to me. However I heard one of Lostprophets songs a few months back and it got be hooked. It seems that each song has different meanings and a different style to it. Just a purely awesome band.

Queensrÿche. In my opinion, one of the best bands to come out of the 80s. They were "thinking man's metal," their own special brand of progressive metal that was socially aware. They may not have had as much staying power as some of their contemporaries, but they were a big deal in their prime. Geoff Tate is an amazing, distinctive vocalist with a range spanning several octaves. Their songwriting was solid and meaningful, discussing matters such as class conflict, religion, and poverty without being "preachy." Most know them by the popular 90s power ballad "Silent Lucidity," although that's not their best song by far: Their music really speaks to me -- it's helped me through some hard times and they've entertained me for years. I've gotten a number of people into them, including my own mother (!!!). You all should check them out -- Operation: Mindcrime, Empire, Promised Land, and Rage For Order. Everything else, eh. (Haha, every band has a lull period.) Queensryche is another top favorite of mine (Dream Theater is the better of the big Prog Metal bands) but... Queensryche's been having a lull since about 1990... MAYBE 94 can be argued. I just REALLY wish that their lull period would end. I love everything from their self titled debut until Empire.

I can't choose a favorite...there are just too many incredible bands that I love, so I'll just list my favorites, in no particular order (not going to go into detail about why, for obvious reasons): Queen AFI Depeche Mode The Sleeping Daft Punk The Offspring Iron Maiden Killing Joke Megadeth Metallica Bad Religion ELO In Flames CKY Millencolin Senses Fail Silverstein I'm sure I'm forgetting some...

Who? Creed. Why? I love their sound. I love a lot of the lyrics in most of the songs. I think it's inspiring what Stapp went through and came out the better for. And, at the time of me really forming my own opinion growing up, they were the biggest band around. I use to be obsessed with them & their last album was hit & miss with me. Although there were songs I don't like, "Time" "Overcome" & "A Thousand Faces" are amazing songs Stapp's solo album had some great ones too, especially "Surround Me" - live version from cdusa is awesome

Guns N' Roses.
Ever since I was a baby. Even in my parents' videos of my as a child, I've loved GN'R. There's a particular scene I remember where I'm jumping around in the living room to Don't Cry and the baby at the end comes out of the water and I screamed. I was in Middle School proclaiming that Chinese Democracy was coming out soon, every single day hahaha. Then IRS and There Was A Time leaked and right here on the forums, WOJC the former admin, sent me a link to them and I was sure that it would come out. I've gone through some dark moments in my life where I honestly didn't wanna live and GN'R was right there...not even just the music but the hope that Chinese Democracy would be released. More leaks came out in the summer of 2008 and then I bought Rock Band 2 for Shackler's Revenge. Then in my final year of school, my senior year, on November 23rd, 2008 I woke up early and headed to Best Buy and got my copy of ChiDem and locked myself in my room for an hour and a half. I remember every single moment just being incredible. I know not many people like the album, but I love it. Guns N' Roses is truly my favorite band and it's more than a band to me. I know Axl Rose gets a bad rap sometimes and he has done questionable things but in recent years, what has he done wrong? He's put on amazing three hour+ shows each night for the world and delivered fantastic music. The fans asked them to play Estranged, and Bumblefoot saw this and relayed the message. We got Estranged. Same thing happened with Civil War. I love Guns N' Roses.

Converge. No other band has been that aggressive and that lyrically beautiful at the same time. They are the be all, end all to me muically.

Oasis - quality UK band known all over the world, the 2 brothers are great, shame they split up! Same here, think so much of their music is class. Surprised at the amount of music in here that I would never listen to in a million years.

it's a really hard question, and honestly, a couple bands come to mind. but, i have it narrowed down to two, for different reasons.
new found glory. heard them the first time from my brother, and they got me into pop-punk which has lead to me liking all the music i dig now. so i give them much of the credit. and, theyre incredibly nice dudes.
the wonder years are the other band tied for the spot. i listen to them more than nfg, but still. their music is so relatable, and just really genuine. i first heard them from this forum actually, and have been into them ever since. nothing makes me feel like this band does, and i'm actually fine with that.

Hard Question, I'm going with Slayer. I hop around, with favorite bands. Though, I always come back to Slayer. It's makes me soo sad that I'd never ever be able to tour with them, if I get a band. Though, instead of touring I'd love to have respect from them. Everytime I got into a fight, as I was going I'd blast Slayer to get pumped. Most of the fights I got into really never happened, so all the pumping up was for nothing....so I go back to listen to more Slayer. They're also an excellent live act, probably first or second out the big four. Also, I always loved the chains, leather, inverted crosses it was soo badass!
