In-N-Out is the most overrated fast food restaurant ever - hands down. Their burgers are absolutely nothing special. They're also too salty and too small. They're not bad, but they are most certainly not great. There is much better out there.

The food is terrible IMO. Maybe the ones in your area, but the one I've been going to for years had always been amazing. Never had one of these disintegrating burgers you speak of, lol.

Yeah, there's a Five Guys in my area as well and I think their food is fantastic.

For example, I live in New York and have had In-N-Out once in my life, I thought it was great, but if I lived in California, near one, I'm not sure how much I'd love it.

I've had Five Guys twice in two different cities. Both times I was disappointed by the melting burger. I want a burger I can chew, not one that just melts in my mouth.

Myself I'll have to say McDonalds, Burger King then Wendys. It's something about deep fried and flamed broiled that really enlighten my taste buds.

Mine have been great every time. I also enjoy the entire brown bag of fries that comes with just about every meal.
