Man, 2011 sucked for movies. I disagree, I like a bulk of the nominations. There's a few I would've liked more, but oh well. Hugo is up for a ton, which I'm super happy about. Easily the most well made 3D movie.

The Ides of March not getting anything at all is still pissing me off right now. I think it got only one and it was for Adapted Screenplay. I am upset Fassbender, Swinton failed to get nominations in a leading role. Albert Brooks being snubbed for Supporting Actor is a shock as well as is the number of films nominated.. I mean a lot of people who predict this stuff though it would be only 6-7 films yet 9 somehow had their 5% fans to put them as # 1..

I'm surprised it wasn't at least nominated. I'm happy that it gives Rango a better chance of winning, though. I still think it should have won the Golden Globe. im sorry, rango was good but tintin imo was better, with probably the best animation ive seen in a movie That's fair to say.

They're not all that bad. There's snubs every year, somebody is always gonna miss the cut. It happens, besides if they weren't considered a frontrunner to begin with...what difference does it make?
Tree Of Life noms, no Cars 2 and The Muppets get a nomination for "Man or Muppet". Awesome stuff.

If there any movie staring a gay guy? Cause thats my bet on what wins. wow, thanks for your contribution... Iv'e seen short films on youtube that could absolutely destroy the ones acknowledged by the academy

^ He's pretty much true this year though since Christopher Plummer is for sure winning for Supporting Actor after playing a man who comes out in his 80's.
That is not to say that any gay character will win the actor/actress the Oscar of course..

The Ides of March not getting anything at all is still pissing me off right now. Good. It was a very average film, and I am glad all the Oscar buzz it had was killed very early on.

while im extremely happy that hugo got so many nominations, how the didnt adventures of tintin get nominated for best animated? Seriously. Tintin was one of my favorite movies of the year, it should have at least gotten a nominated. It was totally better than Puss in Boots Also, it's interesting to note that since the animated category has existed, Cars 2 is the first Pixar film to not be nominated. I'm not terribly surprised since, while enjoyable, it wasn't especially great. Just an interesting factoid. I think The Artist is going to clean up. Also, it looks like Man or Muppet will get best song, I'm also looking forward to seeing it played live. I wonder if they'll give the songs more time since there are only two of them this year. I'm looking forward to the ceremony, and of course TCM's 31 days of Oscar is always great

I think with the year we had in movies. The Ides of March should have had a few nominations. Was it Best Picture of the Year? No. Not at all. Could it have been a contender atleast? Yes. Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, These are the nominations I was hoping for.

Same here. I also love Summer Under the Stars, and their October programming. What do you think of this years theme (films grouped by location)? I need to get a TV set up in my work room sometime this week so I don't have to figure over the TV with my girlfriend

My DVR is full and new recordings are deleting old ones. Too many good movies to watch.
