Has anyone noticed the changes at J.C. Penny? Do you like them?
I dont like the changes. I think its one thing for them to stop the catalogue and change there price points. But why did they have to change the in store signs? And the price tags on the items in store?
To me the new signs seem like something you would see in a Conway, or Ross, a discount retailer. I dont like it. When I see a CW Price or a Conway I think poop quality clothing. So why JCP would want to go that route IDK.
And the new tags on the items are a bad idea as well. At least IMO anyway. These new stickers they place on items makes me think of a flea market or garage sale. Not to mention the sticker and price are soo small. I have good vision and I have to get closer to see what the price is. I cant imagine how hard the new stickers are for people with poor vision to see and distinguish.

Seriously? Signs? In a department store? If that's all you have to worry about, I wish I had your life...

And the things I do worry about are sometimes either too personal or too "mature" to post on here. This was just something I noticed today. And since I like J.C. Penny I really dont want them to mess them selves up. I've already lost a number of stores I like to this economy, Id hate for JCP to end up on that list.

They rebranded themselves, and although I've only seen the new website and logo, and I'm not loving it. (I'm a graphic designer by the way.) I'm curious to see how it pans out. It reminds me of when Gap tried to rebrand themselves recently and failed TERRIBLY, got terrible feedback, and quickly changed back.

I'm a huge fan of DC Comics.
DC Comics changed their logo completely.
I hate the new DC Comics logo.
However, I don't make a thread, because it's nothing of consequence to anyone but me what my feelings are.
Seeing a pattern here?

Lord, lighten up! This a forum, and a forum is where we walk about whatever we want. The description for the WF Lounge is "Chill out and talk about almost anything!" Get off your high horse and and maybe you wouldn't have so much to bitch about. To answer the OP's question, I haven't noticed. Companies sometimes go through random changes to their look, and then quickly revert back to their previous look due to a negative reception.

I haven't been to JC Penney in weeks. The only change I noticed is that they have better clothes. For a while, all they had were ghetto clothes.

The new direction sure is better than them having "sales" every day of the week...

Hm, yet there are people in this thread who seems to want to talk about this subject. Usually when people don't like something, they avoid it. Don't like what this thread is about? Don't post in it. You don't have to post in every thread you come upon to show off your dumbass ugly tattoo. Anyway, I don't like the new price tags either. They are kinda hard to read.

I think they took quite a hit from Macy's so they had to downgrade from a more upscale department store more of a discount one similar to TJ Max.

My mom shops frequently at JCPenney, and she gets so many coupon and sale offers from them that she typically gets her items anywhere between 60%-80% off retail price on any given day of the week. It's crazy what she sometimes comes out of there with. She had so many coupons mixed with their sales at Christmas that she got my dad three pairs of dress pants, two shirts, two ties, and a pair of dress shoes for under $75.
With that being said, it looks as though this new program is going to eliminate that, at least with the frequency it once was at.

The prices are going to be super low on the first and third Fridays of every month. Coupons are stupid anyway.

I dont know anyone under the age of 65 that even goes to JC Penny! So what store do you like? Sears? I think Sears clothing is a slightly poorer quality than JCP. Especially ever since they got Kmarted. Macys? Macys is nice but they arent as available as a JCP or sears. Plus I kinda hate the fact that here in Chicago we lost Marshal Fields to Macys. Not a serious hate, just slightly discontent. Nordstrums? Blomindales? I think those stores are great but I consider them a little too expensive to regularly shop at. Kohls? I havnt been in one of those in IDK how many years now. I remember I didnt like them because most of those stores seem poorly lit. Carsons/Bergners/Yonkers? I like these as well.

I never go into JC Penny. The one where I live is a joke. It's mostly women's and children's stuff and about 5% mens.

I think this change will backfire. Sales get people into stores. People spend more when they think they are SAVING money. No sales, less items will sale. My opinion.
