ok so i brought an extra DM Taker so i can open it and keep my other MOC. I brought it from TRU and when i opened it the leg completly fell off. I tried taking it back to TRU but they wont let me return it because it was opened. now im out like 25 bucks

Call mattel customer service and they'll give you a voucher.

Email or call Mattel. They will most likely send you a voucher that you can bring to your TRU and get a new one. Just explain the situation to them.

TRU has to take it back they sold you a defective product and with receipt there is nothing they can say about it. Yea I've never had a problem exchanging a defective item at TRU. They usually take back anything.

I would've asked for a manager as their policy is to replace broken toys if it was purchased recently. However, Mattel customer service will take care of it.

You have I think 60-90 days to return items at TRU. The only thing that you can't return if opened is electronics. You should be able to return/exchange it. Go to a diff TRU

I'm betting the TS never even tried taking it back to Toys R Us.... I am a AP at toys r us, and i know for sure they would return it as long as you have a receipt, or if you used your rewards card to buy it....... I've seen power rangers put in wwe boxes. Ppl at TRU will take back anything. As far as toys r us will take anything back, leave that comment for your local store. I know for a fact the stores i have worked at and trained in will not just take anything back. Dont get us confused with wal-mart.....If you see those again, in a toys r us, please PM me a picture of the item in the store, and the store number. I will pass it along to the head of Asset Protection, and get things sorted out in that store

I would try to take it back and exchange it again. I have returned something i opened that was broke before and the lady checked it all out to make sure it was the right product and everything as she said they had a lot of wrong returns.
Part of me thinks you are trying to get a free figure out of this though, i hope i am wrong b/c it will ruin it for the few who actually break them and need the coupon.

Then I think you are out of luck to be honest....
If I was working in a store, I would most definitely not take an item back without the receipt being shown, as there is absolutely no proof the item was purchased there!

If he doesn't have the receipt it is ok as long as he used his toys r us rewards card......they type in your number or scan your card and scan the item. If the purchase was with in the 90 day period they will take it back.
