What get's me is how this has been going on for so long, yet the majority of the world just found out about it a few days ago. It makes you wonder what else is going on out there that we don't know about.

All of you guys saying "OMG 30 MINS AND IT'S A WASTE OF TIME!!!" obviously didn't watch the video. Yes, Kony has been doing this for a while, YES, people are JUST now learning about it, that's the point. They are trying to raise PUBLIC awareness through social media and various other outlets in an attempt to garner support for a military campaign that is wavering here in the United States. In October of 2011, Obama signed off on sending a small group of United States military advisers into Uganda to help the Ugandan military come up with tactics and effective methods to catch him. But people over here really don't know who this guy is, so why should they care? Call it jumping on the bandwagon if you will, but that's EXACTLY what this video is asking you to do. Get informed and get on board. They are reaching out to celebrities and politicians to use their voices and their status to spread the word about this guy; hoping that with enough support, the U.S Government will see this is a worthy cause. He needs to be stopped. Essentially, they want to bring his crimes to light, and make people care about what he is doing to other human beings. 2012 is pretty much the deadline, if by the end of this year, our government feels like nobody cares about this, they'll withdraw their military support groups from Uganda, and this Kony guy will disappear again. They're reaching out to the general public for help, the least you could do is take 30 minutes out of bitching about what match should close Wrestlemania and how Undertaker got a ing haircut and watch.

I know this is random but I finally got around to watching John Carpenter's The Thing. I then found out Macready was the main character on there and thought of you xD. Damn good movie too.

He's not even in Uganda anymore.
Plus it's not the job of the United States to help every time someone needs help.

After actually watching the video, I think it's definitely worth checking out. Also - it is a great idea.

How many people actually tried to vet any of the information in the video before voicing your support?
**crickets**
**tumbleweed**
Yeah, that's not a problem.

Armchair activists. they're accomplishing NOTHING by spamming this crap across the web. You only make yourself feel good. This has NOTHING to do with saving kids in Africa but everything to do with making white kids in America feel good about themselves because they spammed a link. scumbag armchair activists. Get your clothes and crap from china sweatshops but suddenly care about African kids. It's not our job to police the world.

So, to stop a man who may or may not be dead (or in the country) from assembling a child army....... I need to buy a bracelet?
That's as useless as the cartoon pictures on FB to stop child abuse.

Even if thats the case, this is still game changing, the fact that its reached so many people and it's motivated them to get behind "People Power" is awesome to see. I mean how much longer can we deal with Medias BS like you see on Fox News? This is progress right here folks, and this video was the turning point.

My newspaper teacher in high school told us about the Invisible Children in 2005. It's crazy how slowly people have learned about the issue until now, when it has hit social media, and it is spreading like wildfire. I think it is awesome and we, as people, not Americans/ Asians/ Europeans/ Canadians/ etc. need to show support. It is a global issue and it is never to late to make a change.
Kony is brainwashing people (more specifically young kids by kidnapping them and forcing them to kill their parents) and creating an 'army' of his own just because he wants power. It's scary to think that one man can do so much harm, but as history shows it can be done. It needs to be stopped before it's too late, and the only way to do so is to bring justice to Kony and make him pay for the horrible things he has done.
I just saw The Lorax this weekend and the ending quote by Dr. Seuss comes to mind...
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not."
Be the change you want to see in the world.

First of all, of the $8.3 Million that Invisible Children spent in 2011, only about $2.8 Million (roughly 31%) actually made it to Uganda, and that amount was likely further whittled down by the government, meaning the actual children got much much less. In contrast, Invisible Children spent about $2.8 Million just on the filming and producing the Kony movie (and movies like it). Essentially, they spent more charity money making a movie about their charity than they actually gave to the children.
Now, the goal of this video isn't necessarily to bring in money to go directly to the children, but to help indirectly by pressuring the US government to get involved. And that's great... except for one thing. I gather that most of you are Ron Paul supporters, yes? And what has been his rallying cry throughout his entire campaign? "No policing the world."
Think about what IC wants and decide if that is what you want. They want us to basically use our military to fix Africa. I think everyone can agree that what Kony has done is absolutely horrific and it should be stopped, but do you really want us to get militarily involved in Africa?
I'm not saying you shouldn't support Kony 2012, but I am saying that if you choose to do so, you should do some additional research and figure out what exactly it is that you're supporting, because all of the information needed to determine that is not going to be found in this video.

I just got called a racist for speaking against the Invisible Children people for their spending and misinforming, and saying USA has more problems than we can handle already.
....and that makes me a racist

Invisible Children has stated in the past that only 31% of money they raise goes to the actual cause.
That's an absolutely pathetic number, and the reason I don't donate to them, or give a crap about they have to say. It's a poor excuse of a charity.
