You're right I should learn to be satisfied with 90 and 100 loss seasons. Wait, when did the Phillies lose 100 games? Those NL Titles nad that 1 World Series title must really be making your math off I was talking about the Royals as was blatantly obvious from the post. This is problem with Yankees, Red Sox and fans of other teams like that. You are a fan of a team that has never ever ever been bad. Ever. If the Yankees or the Sox only win 85 games in a season it's considered an epic failure. The manager is almost certain to be fired and people will debate about whether the entire team should be blown up. The Royals or the Pirates win 85 games and it's considered a huge success. The manager walks on water and people are excited about the season. You are a Red Sox fan. You have never rooted for a bad team in your lifetime. You've got to go back to 1965 to see the last time the Sox lost 100 games. Before that it was 1932. The last time the Red Sox lost 90 games was 1966. You can go back 20+ years to 1990 and during that time frame the Sox failed to finish over .500 only 4 times and the worst they finished was like 3 games under except during the strike season. We can go back another 10 years to the 80's when the Red Sox finished under .500 just once. Did you know that the Red Sox have only finished last place one time since 1933? Please don't tell me you know what it's like to root for a bad team because you've never ever had one. Let's compare that to the Phillies. Since 2000, they've finished over .500 every year but one year when they finished 1 game under. That's great. Go back another decade to the '90s where they only finished over .500 one time and lost 90 or more games three times. Go back another decade to the 80s when they were actually good the first part of the decade but spent the latter part of the decade finishing under .500 year after year and finishing last place twice. Last time the Phils finished dead last? 2000. Also in 1997 and in 1996. All in recent memory. Let's not get started on the Royals. They've finished last 5 of the past 10 years. Keep on telling yourself fans of bad teams have nothing to gripe about when you've never even been a fan of a bad team.

Red Sox have never had a team? We serious right now? Who gives a about finishing last place, I sound like Lorenzo right now but if you dont win the World Series, you are a failure in Boston and I would rather have had been a Pirates fan then deal with the nonsense the Red Sox put up before 2004. You know the Yankees were bad for the entire 80's. You sound like a spoiled child, make up your mind, are you a Phillies fan or a Royals fan. You can not claim both in this argument. If you are a Phillies fan, take your World Series and your division titles and cry me a ign river. Your team won a World Series, how many other fanbases can say that over the last 5 years? Not many. This is the worst argument ever, you are acting spoiled. If you are a Royals fan, thats fine, but you cant quote the Royals when you want attention then whine when Carlos Ruiz goes 3-4 instead of 4-4. Maybe you jumped ship when the Phillies started to get good? Possible, explains a lot too. Just unbelievable right now listening to you, more than usual. NO ONE FEELS BAD FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU ROOT FOR THE PHILLIES.

I think he was a Royals fan but when the team sucked after Bo Jackson left, he started rooting for the Phillies...who also sucked during that time.

Red Sox suck.
So I need to whine about how this team never does anything right and how I should be miserable.
Oh wait, I cant, Red Sox have 2 World Series trophies staring at me.

I'm starting to see what Ralpho is getting at, you're a perpetual downer.. why even be a fan if all you're going to do is bitch and complain about everything? You've had one of the best teams in baseball for half a decade, try optimism.

Despite winning 27 Championships, I choose to mourn the years the Yankees were bad and/or failed to win the World Series.

Should've won the 2001 and 2003 World Series. Should AT LEAST be 29-time World Series Champions NONE OF YOU JUST DON'T GET IT! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE! I DON'T CARE IF THEY WON A WORLD SERIES IN 2009 OR THE DIVISION IN 2011.

Nunez and the ump ed over Kuroda. I don't like complaining about umps but Kuroda really recorded 5 outs in that inning...

There's a big difference between bitching because your team is a perennial contender for the division, but never wins the World Series and bitching because your team never wins period and finishes last place and/or loses 90-100 games year in and year out. I'm whining because the roof is leaking and there's no food on the table. You're whining because your tiara is too tight and the pony you got is the wrong color. I bitch about the Royals because they have been losers for decades and I'm sick of it. I bitch about the Phils because they were losers for decades, suddenly are good and there's this voice in the back of my head telling me that they're going to go back to sucking again really soon. Not this year. Maybe not next. Five years down the road, they'll be competing with the Nationals for last place. This is what the voice in the back of my head tells me.
It must be rough being a fan of a team that hasn't had consecutive sub-.500 seasons in 50 years.

Cliff Lee may just have himself a long one hitter today. Once again, the Pirates have forgotten how to bat. When the best batter today's been the starting pitcher...blah. Haha.

You get Vance Worley tomorrow. Worley is infinitely beatable. Lee and Halladay are both in the Cy Young talk by the end of the year. Worley is a 3-4 pitcher if he's got his top stuff on him. The Pirates can break their streak this year even if they can't beat guys like Halladay and Lee. They just need to be able to beat guys like Worley.

I think what's worrying me more than anything Pirates wise is that McCutchen's 0-5 with two K's, two DP's and a catcher popup. I mean, this is a team that's not filled with batting studs...outside of McCutchen, maybe only Presley and Barajas are really respectable batters, but the one definite stud that the Pirates have can't even catch a hit to save his life. Blah. Haha.
