Hey guys
I had a thought not long ago, about the new stars rising up and getting new chances at the main event scene. I was thinking, will Brodus Clay be World Champion as The Funkasaurus? It would be ridiculous but something new. If he were to revert back to the monster heel and win the World Title, it would be like every other monster champion. Be the hottest thing in WWE for a few months, then job out to everyone. What do you guys think?

I don't see it happening, but I won't outright say it won't either.
Anything can happen in the WWF.

I don't think he would have ever been world champ with or without the gimmick.
I like the guy a lot, and love the gimmick, but I just don't see him being on top over some of the guys who are there.

Some guys are not intended to be world champions. Was King King Bundy ever a realistic contender for the world title?

Some guys are not intended to be world champions. Was King King Bundy ever a realistic contender for the world title? Well.. I was only a kid (in the 80's), but I would say yes I definitely viewed King Kong Bundy as a threat to Hogan.

I don't really ever envision him being at the main event level, particularly with the Funkasaurus gimmick.

Possibly. There is a serious side to him that you can see, it isn't all funk and games (see what i did there?), maybe if he amps that up while still keeping a bit of the funk. We've had champions with quite exagerated gimmicks before, I don't see the difference.

He would have to alter his character significantly to be a World title contender.
Those comedy characters are good for mid-card runs but have to be different to be taken seriously.
Guys like Jericho, Foley, etc. had a bit of comedy in their character but had to be much more than that when they were World title contenders.

Not every wrestler is going to be the world champion.
