That lady sounded rude and you were right to be upset about it... but there are better ways to handle yourself in a situation like that. Don't make yourself look bad as well because of other people. Exactly. You'll learn hopefully sooner rather than later that cursing/name-calling usually makes YOU look bad.

Being a parent myself I can honestly say that if you had been a jerk like that to my wife or me due to my kid making a little noise it probably would have gotten kinda ugly. If you can't stand stuff like that, then you definitely don't want to ever become a parent and it might be best for you to just order food via delivery and become a hermit because stuff happens out there in the big wide world pal.

That's a very wholesome response haha.

What u did was right and wrong, you asked to move and told someone who works there,Good.BUT U overreacted witch made you look bad by calling the baby names and u should have kept that to yourself. And you most likely asked in a rude way for her to controll her kid,i mean it was very rude of the mother not to even pay attention but you could have asked her nicely you u wouldn't have made yourself look bad. What i mean is you could have good mad Witch you did but it was in bad way and it made you look bad instead of the mother. Not trying to be rude that's just my opinion.

You were wrong, and I bet if she'd of had a guy with her you would of kept your mouth shut. All you had to do was move to another table, not TRY to be a tough guy to a woman and a baby I agree with this guy!

Yeah, you are an ass. Do you expect all parents to keep their parents out of public until they are teens? Babies cry. If you can't handle that, then there is a problem. And as others have said, if she was with her husband, I'm sure you wouldn't have said a word. You are such a tough guy!

It's a baby, A BABY! What the hell did you want her to do, duct tape it's mouth? If it was a young child (6-10) then I could understand politely asking the mother to clam her kids down, but it was a baby and you called it a bastard. Not cool bro, not cool. I am with you though on the fact that it is a parent's responsibility to keep their children quite and acting with class in public, but babies don't know any better.

Being the way that I am I totally understand why you did what you did. I really can't stand kids under the age of 5 or 6, and hate it when they make any noises, happy or sad. Regardless, I probably would have just asked to be moved or left altogether as not to cause an incident. I don't think it is as big a deal as everyone here is making it out to be though.
Edit: I love the responses from these tough guys saying "it would have gotten ugly if you had done it to me" or "I bet you wouldn't have done it if there was a man present". Yeah, he would have kicked your ass in front of your kids. Then you have to send them to therapy because they had to break out the smelling salts to revive their daddy on the floor of a Dennys.

Yes you were right.
You asked her to do something about her whining kid, and she didn't even try.

I don't go to restaurants for reasons like this. I like to eat in quiet at home not to mention the high calorie food you often get in restaurants.

Wow...I bow to you pal. I take back what I said. If this guy had called my kid a bastard I most certainly would have said "I'm sorry sir." I would have them backhanded my kid in the mouth to appease him and I would have tucked tail and left so this guy could enjoy his 3.99 bacon and eggs in peace. Thank you internet bad ass for setting me straight in my ways. What would I have done without you?

Oh I have far too much class to get into an altercation, or even be seen at a Denny's. Of course I wouldn't expect someone who threatens violence in a supposedly civilized society to actually be able to read into the fact that's was not referring to myself. But that's cool, it doesn't take brains to threaten for something to "get ugly". If you go around like a tough guy anytime someone calls your kids a name, one day your 3rd grade temperament will get you into trouble. I can slow this down even further if you two still aren't getting it. Of course, knowing how things work around here, you are an admin, so you will probably just ban me for disagreeing with you since you can't "get ugly".
