I've always wanted the ADR Hardy Dreamer set. I recently came across it on Ebay for over $100. Is it really that rare?

Yup, that was the original proto for the set. I remember it quite cleraly, as AD1 was one of my most anticipated sets ever, between this set and the RVD/HBK street gear set.

I've never seen the next to last one before. That's interesting how incredibly different it looks from the rest, and still has the TTL body. It doesn't look half bad, though. The OP's pic is definitely a paint master, look at the arms on dreamer, I'm guessing that is stuff to hold the arms on? At any rate, I see that on every pic of a paint master by Jakks.

I always just thought when I saw them that they were being held together with some binding agent like caulk as opposed to pins or whatever it is companies usually use for protos. Wouldn't know what Mattel protos look like for comparison since Mattel are a-holes when it comes to showing us what something is going to look like. I'd rather have Jakks here showing us 10 different protos that look different each time than Mattel showing us none and expecting us to blindly pre-order them. Don't know if you remember the E16 Rock debacle, where everyone ordered it because Mattel confirmed that it would be Survivor Series 2011 attire and everyone, excited for a scan with a goatie, ordered it and then they showed the picture and it was that same goddamn head with a goatie drawn on. DUPED.

Mattel has their moments, but are currently aggravating me. I am caught up at retail and the long summer of nothing on the shelves has started. I'm sick and tired of them keeping us in the dark and never showing anything until it is completely finished. As if there is no reason to build excitement and as if no one at Mattel owns a camera. Half the time Mattel shows no proto and it's Ringside taking the photos about a week before they ship to us.
Meanwhile we've seen protos for DI10 for over a month and it doesn't even come out until what, Late June? And guess what? I preordered some. I'm never going to pre-order a Mattel figure without knowing what it looks like first. Toyfair this year was beyond stupid. The biggest toy-only show of the year where all the other companies showed us prototypes of things that are as far out as August and beyond, but everything Mattel showed us was already out, or had already been shown on Ringside and was coming out within the week.

I remember seeing protos for this FM figures on the back of a figure box & thought they looked incredible, I thought the hair actually moved & then I saw them in person & thought they were hideous, but some soon grew on me & they had great play-ability.

Some of the Finishing Moves/Final Count figure scans were great. Bradshaw and Christian were awesome, loved the Hogan, remember the Chuck Palumbo being pretty cool, Scotty 2 Hotty....
and then we would get crap like The Rock, Helms, and Triple H.
