So a few months back my sister & I were at Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner & there was a Coors Light sweepstakes going on for an NHL give away. My sister is beyond obsessed with hockey & has more knowledge than majority of the hockey fans I know. Anyways, she signed up & i was more focused on watching the NCAA tournament. I never have luck with these things & its a nation wide contest. What are the chances I win? Slim.
Then a few weeks ago I was over at her house & she told me she got a phone call from a Coors Light rep saying she won the grand prize from that contest she signed up for. So instantly I'm thinking the prize has to be good, right? Turns out it was. She won an all expenses paid trip for two to a Stanley Cup finals game. Wow. So I couldn't even get the words out to ask who was going with her before she told me to pack my bags haha.
The only thing we are going to have to pay for is our ground transportation & food, but were being given $500 in cash to spend on whatever we want. The nice part is we get to also pick what city we go to. I gave my sister the ultimate decision since she won, but we both said we'd like to go to LA or New York. We have family in LA so we could get to see them. And we haven't been to NY in 10 years, & I'd love to be able to be inside of Madison Square Garden for the first time.
We were also told we'd be getting gift bags from Coors Light, & instantly I assumed it would be stuff with their logos plastered all over it. They were delivered to us yesterday & I was pleasantly surprised. When we filled out our paperwork they asked us who our favorite team is, which is the Chicago Blackhawks. I got a Blackhawks zip up hoodie, Retro T-shirt, Coors Light gym bag, & Coors Light flex fit cap. I looked the hoodie & shirt up on the NHL store site (because I knew I'd seen them before there) & the hoodie was going for $70 & T-shirt for $35. Plus the gym bag was very nice.
So LA is in the finals, now we just have to see what NY is going to do. All I know is I've got a cool sister & next week I'll be on the east coast or west coast.

You do have an awesome sister! I was going to come in here and be like "Aw yeah well my sister got my LeBron James jersey autographed by him." But what your sister did wins. Have fun and post pictures!

That you sure have a great sister, I wouldn't be certain if I was the one chosen if my sister won that sweepstakes. It sure is going it be one hell of an experience for you to head back to LA or New York then watch 2 Stanley Cups up close later on. That's what's living about right there, and it sounds like you got some pretty cool stuff as well. Regardless, hope you two enjoy your trip, keep us updated.

It's official now, we are headed to LA for game 4.
Were flying out a week from Tuesday. I was a little bummed NY couldn't pull it off, because I really wanted to go there, but this will still be great. One of my cousins got married easter weekend (who does that?) & I couldn't go because I went to Miami for WM28 the week before & couldn't afford 2 trips in 7 days. Some of my family knows & they are pretty excited, while others we aren't telling so it will be a surprise for them. My sister went to get a new battery for her camera, so the picture taking is all set. I'll make sure I steal some photos to post on here. Now I'm just hoping for a sweep, because I'd love to see the celebration.

Hope to see some photos of your experiences and possibly during game 4 would be pretty cool as well.

Sucks that you won't be able to experience the atmosphere at MSG, the good news is that the quality of the game will be much better since the Devils' style of play is far more exciting than the Rangers.

I do agree about the playing style. I went to a Rangers/Blackhawks game a few months back & the first period was all about the Rangers dictating the game with their style of play. The Hawks took over in the second period & make the game a lot more exciting.

Who knows, you might see a team win it. That would be incredible.
