Am I the only one that doesn't really wanna see Ric Flair as the new GM? I know, the guy's awesome, but I'd much rather see Heyman as General Manager. I don't know why, but I've always thought heels made better GMs. That's why I never really cared for Teddy Long.
Thoughts?

I think the GM position has overstayed its welcome. Let's do away with it.

I'd rather John Laurinaitis keep the job.

If they hired Heyman back to book the WWE would be amazing again, the guy really knows what hes talking about and how to go about things. But with Linda running for whatever office she is, its not going to happen anytime soon.

Flair earned a slot in the company for life. Is like to see him as a on air figure head, or mentor, but not as a GM.

I'd like for Flair to be the GM of RAW & Foley be the GM from Smackdown. They have a history of not liking each other much so they can play off of that. Have the brand split in full swing. Then wrestlers can turn on their show and join the other to keep things interesting.
Make the spit mean something for the first time in years.

I agree with OP. It's a bad idea. The guy's proven in recent years he isn't trustworthy. Put Foley in the damn position. He's been begging for that role back for years.

They need to bring back "Flair for the Gold" so he an Arn and ridicule all these new kids and talk about how they cant lace their (The Horsemen) boots.

I want to see Flair as far away from WWE TV as possible. Ric Flair is probably my all-time favorite. That said, it pains me to say that I feel he has overstayed his welcome and everyday he continues to do so, tarnishes his legacy. No GM is needed..just Vince every so often or maybe Steph so that their presence is actually special when it happens.

I love Flair too...but demeaning the new guys won't lead to anything that will serve to help the business as a whole. It would mean a few nice promos in the beginning, but quickly turn to something ugly, whereas we all realize that the glory days of Flair, AA and The Four Horsemen are in the past. Flair & AA can help by teaching the new guys how to tell a storyline in the ring, how to conduct solid promos and how to be better performers-all from behind the curtain. Part of being a Professional Wrestler is knowing when to pass the torch and it is a skillset that many Legends still don't understand.

Honestly, the whole GM angle is pretty stale to begin with. I'd rather not have an on-screen authority figure save for the few times Vince makes an appearance. A heel GM is just going to try to screw the top baby face, a face GM is just going to make life miserable for the top heel. And either way we've seen it way too much.

Flair is definitely the man, but I can't say I care to see him on TV at this point. His stuff with Gunner right before he went off script with TNA was atrocious. All he does is take off his jacket and stomp around. I don't particularly feel the need to see him have a a heart attack in the middle of a WWE ring.
It's shame to me that Flair has soured his own legacy. He is unequivocally one of the greatest of all time imo, but all guys have to walk away at some point. Flair's point has long since passed imo.

I love both Flair and Heyman. However, catching a few glimpses of his run in TNA, Flair has lost his edge whilst Heyman is still as fantastic as ever. Still - Foley, Flair or Heyman would all be up there as top choices for GM if the decision was mine.
