Nobody's complaining because it's so refreshing after all the drama from 151. It's nice to hear a champion is happy and ready to face a new challenge from a different weight class, instead of finding every reason to get away from it.

The question though is what will happen to Edgar if he loses to Aldo. I mean he'll still be appraised for taking the fight on short notice but that would be 3 losses in a row in the UFC. Unless you're Wand, you're not around too much longer after a slump like that.

lol @ the thought of Edgar getting cut for losing to Aldo.

Not saying he'd be cut, but say he has another fight after a loss to Aldo and by some unfortunate reason he loses that fight as well. Then what?

Well the thing with Edgar was that the he lost his belt in what was considered a controversial fight (Not to me), and in the eyes of most he defeated the Lightweight Champion and should be the title holder again. So honestly this is the real Lightweight Champion against the Featherweight Champion, a super fight. =]

This fight was accepted longer away than when Jones accepted a fight with Belfort at 152, kind of a terrible comparison. Not saying he'd be cut, but say he has another fight after a loss to Aldo and by some unfortunate reason he loses that fight as well. Then what? Akiyama & Dan Hardy are still around. Frankie Edgar isn't going no where if he loses 3 fights to champions, in fact he probably has 3 more losses after that to even be considered. Anyway probably the only interesting matchup at 145, still think Aldo takes it comfortably, he's just a different kind of monster, but Edgar keeps finding ways to surprise me.

This fight was accepted longer away than when Jones accepted a fight with Belfort at 152, kind of a terrible comparison. What I meant was this type of news and attitudes from fighters is extremely refreshing after all the bull**** from 151. Kind of completely misinterpreted my point. As for Edgar being in any danger of being cut... He lost two controversial fights, one of which he blatantly won 3 rounds of and everyone knows it. Dropping a fight to Aldo is like dropping a fight to Anderson at this point, it's pretty much expected (though I think Edgar has all the tools to beat him personally). Hell, they've kept Akiyama around after 4 loses, two of which he was finished in, and they kept Dan Hardy around after 4 losses also, again two of which he was finished in and really and truly...they don't exactly have any real market value outside of being British and Japanese (Dana loves having a vice grip on every nation). No way Edgar is in any real danger even with a loss to Aldo and a follow-up loss after that.

if youre referring to the first fight, then yep. if its the 2nd... i guess me and 2 judges didnt know it. i dont count for crap, and i realize it... but those two judges must be watching something.
that said, i think edgar will beat aldo.

Something prompted me to go back and look at the Henderson/Edgar thread, and I couldn't help but repost this quote from you hammer... by the time jones/hendo rolls around at 151, everyone will forget about the scoring of this fight [except frankie edgar probably] and move on to the next cluster that occurs at that ppv. How little did we know...

I'm very torn here. Frankie is my boy. I've known him a long time and he's been wanting to go to 145. He just wanted to have the 155 belt first and become the first guy to hold two titles, but Bendo is amazing. I really can't wait.

Prado's looking like Bigfoot Silva after a stint on Weight Watchers in that pic.
Really wish I had more MMA buddies around here so we could order this card. Looks like it could turn out to be a great event.

The card is pretty awesome, with the main card being USA vs. Brazil fights, kind of like UFC 117.
