How long until somebody quotes the above post? Those 3 NECA figures are looking incredible!

I got my Leo on Saturday. These are so amazing. I can't wait until Mikey comes out to complete the set.
I'm hoping NECA's next TMNT 1/4 project is a 1990 movie Shredder!

Love a NECA movie, classic comic, and cartoon Casey Jones.

NECA is good, but there is only so real looking that you can make plastic fur....and if it's actual fur,you risk it turning out like looking like a stuffed animal. I think Shredder is the way to go. And like you said, Splinter probably wouldn't be as hot a seller.

thing about Shredder....his gear was so simple yet badass...however on a figure if his gear wasn't cloth and his armor wasn't some type of metal it would be disappointing
and those materials are probably too expensive to keep the cost at $100

Been thinking about if I celebrate my birthday this year doing a Retro TMNT theme.
Track down Birthday Leonardo, Sewer Lair Playset, some figures to bust open and maybe, just maybe a Technodrome Scout...not to mention some old style balloons and banners and such.
I always worry about stuff like that though because there's so many overpriced sellers online I don't even know what to tell people to get me without running the risk of them paying double or triple what they should be. It's the thought that counts of course just no one likes to see that happen.
Sometimes I think maybe I should just ask they chip in on something big or leave them some kind of Etsy/Amazon Wish List.

Picked up Usagi and Samurai Raph at TRU today. Couldn't help feeling a little wistful too, since this will probably be my last TMNT figure pickup for a while.
(I'm not holding out much hope that the monster figures are actually going to make it to retail before the plug gets pulled on this line.)

Alright so I've been seeing all the pictures of the NECA Turtles. They look amazing, and I really want them. Problem is, can't talk myself into dropping $100 per figure and not really loving the scale of these. So what to do? I decide to go have another look at my Playmates Classic Movie Turtles. Now before I go any farther, there is no comparison between these and the NECA figures, it almost makes me sad to look at the Playmates figures after seeing the NECA versions lol. One of Playmates Turtles biggest problems is the faces. Mikey looks great, Raph looks ok, Leo looks ok but has an odd surprised look, and Donnie just looks kinda goofy. I got looking around only to see how others have fixed this problem. I found a guy that makes custom heads for the Playmates figures that actually rival NECAs, but they're a bit more expensive than I wanna spend. The ones I saw that he had sold were $50. I'm sure the work put into them is worth it, but if I'm gonna spend $50 I would probably just go on and buy the NECAs and try to sell the Playmates figures. So I kept looking around and I found a guy that had took apart the heads and switched the mouths on his figures. It actually seemed to help. So I decided to give it a try. I swapped Raph mask and head onto Leo's mouth, Donnie's mask and head onto Raph's mouth. I then used one of the extra heads from the WalMart Movie figures for Leonardo, as Leo is the only figure with the same skintone as the first release of the figures. The switch gives Raph more of an angry look. Donnie doesn't look as goofy. Still not 100% happy with this, but its much better than it was. Also thinking about switching the bandannas with one from the WalMart Secret of the Ooze heads, to make it a little darker purple. Not sure, what do you guys think? This one is an actual Leonardo head from the WalMart Secret of the Ooze figures. I like this one much better than his worried look that was originally on it. And as I said, I kept Mickey like he was as I think they did a great job with him. Again, they still don't compare to NECA's, but I think they look better than they did, and nobody is stuck with the goofy Donatello mouth. I think I may plan on adding some green around the eyes, as I've seen others do this and it looked good. Also may try to do some painting on the bodys too, but worried I might end up messing up my figures.

So I received both NECA Raph & Donnie within a day of each other from EE I thought it was funny how I ordered Donatello back in February....I ordered Raph & the other 2 in April, and I actually received Raph first....Donnie came the next day.
These things are incredible. Quite honestly worth every cent I paid.
I have a couple of minor issues though and I wonder if I'm alone....
- One thing I absolutely HATE is the ribbons on the back of Donnie's shell that are supposed to hold his Bo. Whoever thought that was a good idea should be fired. They are truly awful. - Why does Donnie come with 5 extra hands and not 6? Because of the ooze canister he can't hold anyway? Seems like a weird choice - Why does Raph come with an extra pair of hands that are exactly the same as his original ones that are on the figure? Seems like a waste TBH - I wish the weapons were sturdier, instead of hollow, very light and feels cheap, plastic. Honestly was expecting a little better than that for a $100 "toy".... - and lastly, does anyone else get "clicking" when trying to move their legs? Raph is worse than Donnie, but how is everyone been with posing these guys? do they always feel like they are about to break? lol
These are really minor things, as I'm not reenacting movie scenes with them or anything, but its like in life, you have something that should be flawless but there just always has to be something

Seems like a waste TBH I remember reading (I believe it was on toyark, but I could be mistaken), that the wrist articulation is different on the set of hands that's the same as another set.

It's also on their other 1/4 figures like Deadpool and Catwoman. I assume it prevents the legs from loosening to keep the figures standing upright without a stand.

The clicking is just bc the legs are on a ratchet joint. Not a flaw or anything indicating that its fragile or damaged. It actually makes the legs stronger.

I'm still holding out for a 6 inch NECA movie TMNT line, but if that doesn't happen by Xmas season, I'll have no choice but to start collecting the large scale figures. I know they are amazing.

I know we've talked about it before but anyone have any word on those baby turtles? I'm nervous they're going to include one with MIchelangelo and I'd have to somehow buy 4 of those separately haha
