The way I see it right now, Dolph Ziggler is in a prime position to follow Edge's footsteps. Dolph Ziggler has charisma and is pretty talented in the ring. He sells moves like no one else, sometimes a bit exaggerated but still great. The Show Off, #HEEL, Dolph Ziggler has a great manager and the Money in the Bank to get right where he needs to be. Let's look with some illustrations courtesy of myself: Now I'd like to think we all know where Edge's career went after this, and of course the whole "Formed a stable with a former champion" thing is off, because Edge did that AFTER he won the big one...but still... I'd really like to see them use this opportunity to get Ziggler over.

I wouldn't call the brood an elite stable by any means.
I think Dolph will be leaps and bounds better than Edge was as well. He already sells better than Edge.

Sure they've had some similarities, but that pic fails to acknowledge all of the multiple tag titles and singles titles Edge also held.
Ziggler is still in prime position to have a great career in WWE, but comparing him to Edge this early doesn't really work.

I think the problem with Ziggler is his delivery on the mic. He's very redundant and bland. He needs a lot of improvement in that area. The last promo he did on Raw was painful to listen to.
If he doesn't improve on that, he'll never be a superstar. Just another mid-carder who couldn't make it to the top. That's where I see him ending up.

I wouldn't call the brood an elite stable by any means. I really wouldn't consider five male cheerleaders 'elite' either.

Ziggler is one of the best sellers in WWE.....but sells better than Edge?! I 100% disagree. Ziggler gets a little over the top at times. As far as the original post goes.....I mostly agree that Ziggler is on the same path as Edge was. Like Edge, Ziggler has been under utilized for too long. Though, I would like to correct the OP in that Edge did not start his career in The Brood. He was feuding with Gangrel before The Brood was formed as a singles star. He even tagged with Sable at SS as her mystery partner.

Let's just hope that he doesn't have like 18 world title reigns, none of which are particularly memorable.

I can't see him having as many title reigns as Edge did, but the guy is great.

Only difference was that The Brood was cool, The Spirit Squad was terrible.
You also forget to mention that he was Chavo's Caddy lol.

I like Dolph and he'll get a run with the belt. I don't think anyone can argue that. What we can argue is how long of a run. I don't see him holding onto the title longer than 6 weeks. I think he'll win it and lose it just as fast and then fall back to the midcard. I hate to say that. He'll get some rematches but then just get lost.
He looks good and he is a hell of a worker. But I can't see in five years him being the face of the company. He'll just be a transitional champion and end up like Swagger.
Man, I hope I'm wrong.

I guess there is a bit of comparison, more of a coincidence than anything though, I'd be glad if he's as successful as Edge.

Titles mean nothing, it's the memories that matter the most. I love Dolph, he's one of my faves, but Edge a couple of years in was already a part of historic matches and awesome feuds while Dolph hasn't really had too many standout moments.

But Dolph held the World title before winning the money in the bank, the list alright though. -I think Heath Slater is a lot like Christian.

Ziggler almost put me to sleep here. You can't tell me that he doesn't need to work on his mic skills. Stop being a such a mark and realize the truth. The guy needs A LOT of improvement on the stick. He's leaps and bounds from where he needs to be. I'll cut him a little slack since he hasn't had many opportunities to talk. However, what I've seen/heard has been less than stellar. I kind of like Ziggler, so don't say I'm hating on him either.
