Hands down the best custom collection EVER of my personal favorite wrestlers. Incredible job-you and TheDean should work for Mattel.

DAMN! Loving the 4H love! Love that color scheme on Flair. Gonna have to track down a set of those NWA tag titles.

Excellent work! There's a Benoit head that once I painted up the hair and slapped on some glasses worked great for JJ if you're looking for suggestions?

I know the Flair and Windham aren't official Mattel merchandise, but it's such an awesome feeling to have these four wrestlers I enjoyed watching back in the mid-to-late 80s in toy form. And yeah, I've been seriously thinking about a JJ and would be a reason for me to buy a Michael Cole, but I can't quite picture a bleached Benoit head with glasses - any pics?

working on my Magnum TA.....has taught me...the way to go for cowboy boots, is Hacksaw/Bulldog calf and Akeem boots hmm hacksaw/bulldog have the short calves that work with tall boots, but for Windham that combo would make him quite short because Akeem's boots are medium-sized and with the short calves it wouldn't work. Would LOVE to see that Magnum TA you're working on

Minor update on Barry Windham: I'm a firm believer in wrestling action figures actually being able to be posed in the most basic of wrestling action moves. So while I do appreciate the work/skill that goes into a hand-painted custom, fully playable fix-ups will always be my preferred choice. So with Bill and the boys holding out on releasing Magnum T.A. I had to be somewhat creative with cowboy boots. Because I don't want the potential of paint chipping at the articulation points I decided against painting Barry's boots all black (which it should be). PJ had suggested a while ago that I should at least paint the penants white and I gotta say it makes a world of difference: awesome. i really hope we get that windham that was in the legends poll. and that arn is so killer btw when are we gonna see that blue arn? No blue Arn in the works unfortunately, but I did improve the look of another figure along those lines... The Four Horsemen have finally arrived, so Dusty Rhodes is busy assembling his team for War Games! stay tuned...

Those two-tone trunks on Arn look 1,000% better. It's amazing what a difference a little more color can make to an otherwise plain figure. I expected Windham's head to be way too big, but it fits a ton better than I expected.
I would most definitely buy FB figs of Barry, Magnum, or anyone else from that era. '80s NWA is sorely underrepresented in toy form.

Bandy, I went digging around for that JJ/Benoit head. It wasn't where I thought it would be, so I'm checking a few more places. I'll post as soon as I find it though. Looking forward to seeing Dusty's War Games team! :-)

Bandy, what is the recipe you used for Windham? I love how it came out and would love to make one of my own.

Recipehead/jacket accessory - Jakks Barry Windham gloved hand - Kane arms - any with matching skin tone and white wrist tape torso-to-thighs - SCSA (L1 or All-Stars or RSC Exclusive, whatever you find on the cheap) calves - Mr. Perfect/Ted DiBiase knee pads - old school black ones boots - shins from Akeem, feet from Dusty Rhodes.

I'll have to wait on a SCSA, in the mean time I have an extra HBJ I can use which is the same height as Windham, I think the Akeem boots might bring him down a little. He might be more buff the Barry though but t will fill my horsemen void till I can gather the extra parts.

Theres a certain type of spraypaint that Bonds with plastic, Its at Canadian Tire anyhow , Walmart prob has it too. It works very well and does Not chip. It would be a good way to give Windham some Black boots and not have to worry about chipping paint

I used it to spray a bulldog body for Hogan. Works great but Unlike you guys I cant split torsos so I had to tape everything off. I missed a few spots and it didnt come out as well as I had liked. Instead I just went with the typical Tornado body.

yeah I know about Krylon Fusion. I used it on my first Barry Windham but my painting (and spray painting) skills suck harder than Kelly Kelly.
I even took the extra step and used the black brackets from an Undertaker boots that connect the shin to the feet just so the articulation wouldn't have any paint to chip.
