No, it's more like, HEY! You dress abnormally and it's kind of strange and off putting, why can't you grow up and dress in a more conventional manner? Just because someone dresses different it means that they're not grown up? That makes zero sense. Good luck finding a professional job as a male with painted nails, or any sort of unconventional appearance. Yeah, if you're self employed, knock yourself out, but a lot of places now don't even want to hire people with tattoo's, much less painted nails or whatever. What it says is that you don't really care how the rest of the world views your appearance, and you don't care whether or not anyone takes you seriously or not.

That is a very valid explanation, any professional establishment, well supposed "Professional" one would have very harsh policies and regulations restricting those who have there nails painted entirely. Socially speaking, I'd say it really isn't that big of an issue but if you do in which plan to join a serious profession, this is something that shouldn't be contemplated over imo.

Why should anyone care about others who aren't so nice about it? They should screw off and worry about themselves. When people criticize others for how they look, they're really just saying, "HEY! You don't look like me and that pisses me off." No, it's more like, HEY! You dress abnormally and it's kind of strange and off putting, why can't you grow up and dress in a more conventional manner? Dumbest thing I've read in a fat minute. Here comes the clue train! Last stop is you. Some people wear what they wear as an aesthetic that goes hand-in-hand with their music "scene" of choice. Not to make a rebellious, 'non-comformist' statement and not as an ego boost. If you can't understand that, maybe it is you who needs to grow up and get out of that high-school mentality.

Personally I don't think it's cool. But when your NOFX it works... when you're trying to answer phones or file peoples taxes or assist in a Veterinary Clinic it's surely an obstacle. But it's a victimless crime so who cares.

Apparently those who dress unconventionally don't have the common sense to clean up and put on nice clothing for a job or job interview. You're a lot more ignorant than I previously thought.

"Expressing yourself"? what exactly is it you want to express when painting your nails? I don't get it. Get washed dressed..oh wait i gotta do my nails. Urgh, do me a favor.

But it's a victimless crime so who cares. Exactly. Who is it effecting? I do know a girl who has a pretty edgy (albeit natural-colored) hairstyle who wears crustpunk band shirts and works as a veterinarian's assistant, though. It's all a matter of keeping it neat and contemporary in the workplace and not going overboard. I never understood why people think we go walking into a job interview looking like we do when we're hanging out. Even people who dress "conventionally" change out of their everyday social life jeans and a polo and into their nice, neat job interview clothes.

I don't think it's weird or "gay" or anything, but I certainly don't think it looks cool.
BUT you should always express yourself and do what makes you happy.

I guess it's cool if you're gay or whatever, but it's not something I would ever do as a heterosexual. wow. You are never happy are you.

I used to wear clear polish, but that was so they didn't chip easily (roughhousing could get brutal when I was growing up lol), but I stopped a long time ago, when I stopped caring ha. I don't find any problem with guys putting on nail polish.
