I used to, but it became easy when I realised everyone has a hobby. I knew people in my class that collected coins, stamps, jerseys and stuff. I also figured that what someone does with their money is up to them and nobody else should judge

No but I used to embarrassed to walk into a toy store, go to checkout to purchase a figure or even call the stores to ask them I'd they had a specific WWE figure. But ever since I discovered this board last year I don't feel embarrassed anymore Thank you wfigs

Never once. If you're embarrassed by your hobby you should't be collecting.

No, I am not embarrassed in any way. Most of my colleagues that I have at work know about my hobby, although there are one or two d#cks trying to make lame jokes about it frequently. I can't be bothered really, and just try to ignore them....

I have never been embarrassed by my collection. I have had a few people make fun of it but all my family and friends thinks it is cool.

It's never really come up to be honest, not like I've just gone to people "Hey! I collect wrestling figures!"
Some people know, but I don't really care who knows.

Nope. I work for my money, I can do whatever I want to with it. If they didn't want people to buy them, they wouldn't sell them.
Anyone that would think less of me for buying action figures isn't someone I want in my life.

Yes my friends are the sort to make fun of me but I love collecting but I don't tell anyone other than my relatives and even some of them don't know

I used to be embarrased when I was younger but over the years it has become more commonplace for older people to collect toys. One thing I have learned is that if you act like it is a problem, others will treat you like it is a problem. If you are cool about it, others will be cool about it. Heck I brought up Transformers in a job interview and it turned out the guy interviewing was a huge Transformers fan. We went back and forth reciting lines from the 1986 movie... needless to say I got the job. ;D Also you have to look at it like this... If we aren't supposed to be collecting action figures then why would companies make figures that would be more appealing to older collectors? WWE Legends/Classics, Marvel Universe/Legends containing classic characters, and NECA's many lines of figures that are familiar in Pop Culture are great examples of what caters to adult collectables. Many of us who are in the 20 to 35 age range are the target market for these items because we were the first generation that were being marketed to as children. Now companies get to double dip and recapitalize on our nostalgia for what we love. Even Playmates got the hint and now we are getting classic TMNT figures that are upscale and based on the original cartoon. This is the same reason many popular movies from the 80's are being remade. These companies are making profit off of our childhoods. Not a bad thing BTW. In all honesty what kid would give a rats @$$ about Diesel yet go apesh*t for CM Punk? How many kids do you know that log on to Matty each month to buy some MOTUC figures or even heard of MOTUC? NTM if it were only the kids involved Flashback's would be much easier to find because scalpers would have no one to sell to. (Actually no Flashbacks would be made since only kids buy toys ) If adults collecting toys is supposed to be an emabarrassing activity then none of these items would exist. Don't keep it a secret, enjoy! Now if your going to be hooking up with some girls then you might want to ease them in on that piece of info, but again it is nothing to be ashamed of.

It's not something I brag about at 24 years old but I wouldn't lie if someone were to ask me about it either.

No, because just about everyone collects something or has a hobby.

feel proud, collecting is an expensive hobby, people should admire you for being able to keep up with the newest stuff.
