So i sent a trade to a fellow member and he sent me this message
(George Steele FULL FIGURE if anybody was wondering)
Pathetic and absolutely ridiculous. I know the post office is going under, but do they really not care anymore? Something needs to be done, i think i may start a petition to fire the Post Master General. He has had a few years now to turn things around, but has done nothing but hurt it. Sad part is that he makes almost as much as the POTUS.

Was it a full figure? What's wrong with it?

Ok The pic is there now. I can tell you what happened. There are conveyor belts in the hubs for sorting. The package got caught in the belt and torn to bits. Happens quite a bit with small envelope packages like that.

Not understanding what you are trying to say. I do know if you use a repacked box the po wants yo to make sure you remove all old info on the box I deleted the shipping info because it violates wfigs policy. The issue is that i shipped it mint loose, and the other member got it in that shape.

The pic wasn't showing up at first. I edited that post to say what happened to the package after I saw the pic

Happens quite a bit with small envelope packages like that. This is unacceptable even if they use a conveyor belt. When i worked at UPS if we had small packages like this they where to be immediately removed from the belt and put into a giant bag for all small packages. And if we let something go through the system like this, the whole unit was fined and that person would be fired on the spot.

But shouldn't i have ASSURANCE that they will make sure stuff like this doesn't happen? It was their machine, so it should be their fault and responbilty to refund or notify me this has happened. What the? I think tou need to contact usps asap. It looks like my dog chewed it and crapped it out.
I really think its always a good ideas to take a photo of the figure before you ship it so you have proof that the post service screwed up and they won't blame you

Not sure what UPS you worked for but I can tell you in the Parsippany hub small like that went through the system all the time. Yes there were bags or the tote boxes, but plenty of times the bags jammed and tore or the totes would flip ot you would just sort them to one of the outbound areas. And unless you were caught stealing nobody ever gets fired...that's why you pay the union dues. And they can't fine an employee. And if someone got fined or fired in your hub then your shop stewert wasn't doing their job.

I think if you ship something for 2 bucks in a flimsy envelope like that you take your chances. Spend 5 bucks and buy a small box next time!

Yeah, tell the shipper to use a box. Stuff in envelopes go through machines for the mist part

And as for the USPS it should be insured up to $25 even if you didn't insure it. At least I think I remember being told that from my Mailman when I received a package like that

That totally sucks man! I always shipping loose figs in small envelopes. I ship everything in Bubble wrap envelopes. I have never had this issue before. I usually have the postal employee stamp the "Fragile" label before it ships out. Who knows if it helps, but it makes me feel secure. lol

Did his package have a sticker on it? The USPS is supposed to put a sticker on it when it arrives at the Post Office that will deliver it and if it has any damage on it, they sign the sticker that says the package was received on "_____" Date and was received in poor condition.
