Chael just announced on UFC Tonight that he will fight Forrest Griffin at Light Heavyweight on UFC's final card of 2012 on December 29. Thoughts?

Wait they are time travelling?
Sorry man I just had to. I have been dieing to do this once.
Anyways Griffin Sonnen sounds like a good fight. How epic would it be if Sonnen pulled a Silva and knocked him out in similar fashion.

Anyways, I'm all for this. I doubt it'll be anything spectacular, but it should be fun nonetheless.

Lol Sonnen takes this.........im intriqued to see what Chael has to bring to the table at 205. He talks down the division so much that its goin to be fun seeing him try and back it up.

*reads Sonnen's comments about Rich Franklin*
Little ironic now, huh Chael?

*reads Sonnen's comments about Rich Franklin* Little ironic now, huh Chael? Which ones? Specifically the ones leading up to Silva/Sonnen 2. I don't remember the exact quote off the top of my head, but it was more or less along the lines of Franklin being nothing but a former teacher from Ohio that got "chased out of the divsion".

So then just standard Sonnen heel hype. Nothing worth reading to far into.

I gotta say, I think Chael takes this rematch. This guy's a beast at 185 and should be even better at 205. Forrest I hate to say hasn't really improved at all in recent years while Chael's been on fire(yes, he lost the Silva fights but you can't ignore he took it to the champ better than anyone else)
If Sonnen can avoid that damn triangle unlike his first fight with Forrest, this fight should be his.

Motivated Sonnen beats unmotivated Forrest easily. I love the guy, but no way Forrest coasts through this fight like he has his last few.

I'd take Sonnen in the rematch. Not to say Forrest will be an easy fight. He's a huge LHW and won't be as easy to bully around as some of the guys in the Middleweight division were, but Sonnen should be able to pull out a decision.
Seems like Sonnen/Jones are already getting in a little Twitter war. Although he'd have to do some waiting since Machida is next in line and then (most likely) the winner of Shogun/Gustafsson.

.....Griffin vs. Sonnen 2? ...I'm glad I'm not the only one, lol - I hadn't realized they'd fought before. Is this a permanent move to 205 or just for the Griffin fight?

Sonnen takes this one. He could win this still at 75%. Sadly, Forrest is a shell of his former self.
