I really like Sonnen and don't care much for Jones, so I would have liked to of seen the fight.

This is really something we'll be talking about in ten years. This entire ordeal is madness. I also have this sneaking suspicion now that karma is gonna come bite Jones in the ass in that Vitor fight. Something I've never felt about Jones before.

Jones said he'd fight Sonnen at 152 but Dana said no. Seriously Dana's just as at fault for this whole mess as Jones/Jackson. At the end of the day he's the one who pays these guys bills and he's the one who cancelled the event leaving all the other guys without a paycheck. He basically held a guy at ransom and wanted him to fight against his will. You dont cancel the Super Bowl because Tom Brady pulls out. Book better ppv cards Dana and co

^ good point.
And I would have much preferred Jones Vs Sonnen (instead of Belfort) at 152... neither guy is deserving of a 205 title-shot, but I think Sonnen would have a better chance - and the build-up/hype would have been great too. ;D

Well actually Steve, Chael's already been awarded the LHW Championship. ;D ;D ;D (waits for sean to come in, take that seriously, and clarify that Sonnen ISN'T the champion)

VITOR! Vitor will wreck Jones. Get in the inside and lay hands on him. Pumped for the Phenom to put him in his place.

LMAO. Vitor won't do much to Jones, but he's got balls for coming up a weight class when his next fight was in BRAZIL at 185.
And no, they tried to get Jones vs. Sonnen to SAVE UFC 151. They needed to save THAT event. 152 already had a title fight, so that had little to no worries on Dana, but they needed a main event fight at 151, and Jones declined AFTER having a full training camp, and was IN shape and IS the champion. Lyoto couldn't get ready in time, so he declined too.
Honestly, most of the time I can't STAND Dana, but he is NOT in the wrong here.

Sorry for dragging this up again, but there's something I've been wondering - didn't DW say that Anderson Silva offered to fight a LHW on this (the cancelled) card? So how come they cancelled the whole event, when this could have saved the card? And Chael Sonnen might have been willing to fight someone too(?).

This was pretty much the JFK Assassination/Moon Landing of UFC events.
