Hey everyone! Yeah so, I think I've explained that I work in retail before in prior posts. We're all aware that people buy figures, swap out the Mattel figure with an old Jakks figure or even an outdated version of the same Mattel figure...
Today I was up at the Customer Service Desk checking a phone. I get called up when someone's returning a phone and I check the serial numbers, etc. By chance, someone next to the person whose phone I was checking out was returning wrestling figures. It was a guy who I've see shop around, and he's even told me he posts on popular message boards about the hobby (if he posts here, and reads this, go yourself).
Anyway...I saw two Elite boxes in his bag and thought "Oh, maybe he bought them and they were missing accessories..." because sometimes the belts or shirts get stolen. He pulled out two boxes, Elite 15 Yokozuna and Elite 15 Mark Henry. If I didn't already have Yokozuna I would have marked and probably bought Yoko at a later time. However, upon seeing them laid on the counter I noticed that they were not the correct figures. Inside the Yoko box was a Jakks Yokozuna without the robe (and it was stretching the plastic inside, to where the corners were ripping) and inside of the Mark Henry box was a basic Mark Henry in black and red...I think it's from a Battle Packs series, with no WHC.
I pointed it out to the person talking to him and she said that she couldn't accept the returns, and he said "no you don't understand, the belt was already gone when I bought it, and I didn't notice so I'm returning both." To which I stepped in and said, "These are NOT the correct figures, these are both incorrect and wouldn't have been sold this way, I monitor the Toys Dept. and I know that I never had JAKKS and old BASiC figures in Elite packaging," and that was when he either realized he wasn't getting away with it or remembered me and stormed off with both figures saying that we're scamming him.
Needless to say, I'm disgusted with people. If that person posts here, they can go straight to hell.
