I went on a hunt today to three different Meijer stores (Bolingbrook IL, Plainfield, IL, and Aurora IL) to see if I could find a Nash, Diesel, or Slater. No luck at all three.
I did see two E16 Punks (already got one) at one store and one E16 Ezekiel Jackson (don't care for it). Other than those it was all E16 Orton and Rock. And Rock far outnumbered the amount of Elite Ortons I saw. It was like he was the new Cena.
Are people getting sick of Rock? Or is it just the horrible goatee on the E16 Rock?

He's and Punk are the 2 per case figure everyone else is one per case. And if it's the Nash case he'll be 3 per case. (Nash replaces Diesel & another Rock replases Slater)

It's not that the fans are getting sick of the wrestlers....Mattel just sucks at creating lineups and their case breakdowns are embarrassing. That is why certain guys shelfwarm. Elite 12 Orton shelf warmed because we had just had Orton in Elite 9 and Best of 2011. SO when Elite 12 came out, most people already had an Orton. Plus, Elite 9 and Best of 2011 were actually the better figure because it had a cloth shirt, not the rubber one. So when Elite 12 came out, most people who needed or WANTED an Orton had just gotten one very recently. The demand for Orton was very low. Same thing with Elite 16 Rock....how many of us just got an Elite Rock figure in Elite 14? Plus the fact like you said, the goatee on the Elite 16 looks like crap. For $16.99-$17.99 depending on what store you buy at, I don't see how Mattel can expect us to have a need for guys like Rock, Orton, Cena and Mysterio every other Series. I know I have no desire to buy a character, and then buy another figure of that character within a short span of time.

Exactly as it should be. I'm not just talking about Elites though...if you look at the Basics, the red Cena really killed the 2011-2012 Mattel line. I'm going to try and name them all, but I bet I can't. WM27 Basic Signature Series Best of PPV Basic Best of PPV Elite Signature Series #2..I believe he was actually in two different signature Series'. Elite 14 Battle Pack 13 Battle PAck 15 So we had at LEAST 8 different Series containing the exact same red deco John Cena.....this killed the entire line because stores couldn't justify restocking when the pegs were filled with John Cena. Also....Rey Mysterio was in: Basic 13 Battle Pack 13 Royal Rumble Heritage Basic 15 Elite 13 Elite 15 So we had at least 6 different Mysterio's out there at the same time as well. This is a problem, because if I'm MOST parents and my kid wants Rey Mysterio or John Cena, I'm going to try and talk them into the cheaper Basic version. So even though I agree with you, we need a lot of Elite John Cena's to keep up with his attire that is constantly changing to the point where Mattel's Elites are always behind....but I think having so many Basics of him is hurting the Elite sales because I think parents are buying their kids the Basics instead.

(Nash replaces Diesel & another Rock replases Slater) If they're already becoming peg warmers from just having a Rock in E14, why does Mattel revise the E16 cases with MORE Rocks? If they know the Diesel and Nash figures are hot items, why not just REMOVE one Rock and allow for the Nash figure? I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, but it gets frustrating feeling like you have a short window to pick up a figure you want in stores because that figure may not be available when they revise the cases.

When you had Rock in a previous elite set, naturally kids/collectors/parents won't want to drop $16-17 for another, that imo, is terrible.
Mattel seriously should reconsider how they pack figures, and how they do their revision cases... I mean, sure Rock WAS relevant a few months ago... now, he is nothing.

it's probably cause the e14 rock is closer to his current look, seeing as he shaved off his goatee.

E16 Rock is warming in my area, along with E16 Orton. Anybody need these let me know:) The Orton problem is well documented, and E16 Orton is now warming next to E12 Orton and in some stores B02011 Orton, which was just E9 I think...E16 Rock is following a very solid E14 fig, which had better accessories in my opinion, and E16's goatee looks like a very sloppy custom. The fact that the revision case is packed the way it is will probably be bad news until the holiday shopping starts and I expect they'll probably clear out.

It's called supply and demand my friend...the nash is hot b/c it's 1 per case and everyone wants it, if they put out what everybody wanted in every cash, nothing would be valuable.

I think it's because we just got a similar figure of Rock (E14) that was actually, all-in-all, a better figure and also Rock is now not on TV as often.

How long is a figure considered a peg warmer?
In my view, if a series lets say for example E16 Rock and E17 gets put on the shelves. I will then consider E16 Rock a peg warmer because another series came out while the old series is still there on the pegs.
E12 Orton, E9 Orton, E4 Finley, E13 Sheamus, E15 Truth, these are all peg warmers to me. I doubt E16 Rock will still be on the shelves when E17 hits retail. E16 Orton might still be there.

Why would Mattel care about the secondary market prices? They make their sales when they sell them to the retailers. And with Rock being 2 per case in one case breakdown and 3 per case in the other I sure he'll hang around alot longer than 1 per case Orton.

Are people getting sick of Rock? Or is it just the horrible goatee on the E16 Rock? Unlike Cena who is in a whole different league, I don't think people would really get sick or bored of The Rock seeing as he is everywhere in Hollywood for the past few years (now he's filming Fast Six and with GI Joe 2 set to open soon next year). It actually is a bad-a$$ looking figure. The goatee looks a lot better in person and maybe it varies on certain figures.... I like mine a lot..

I like the figure, but it was definetly rushed. A molded goatee and a bigger torso would've made this figure muuuch better in my opinion.

honestly if you think about it I thank god its more e16 rocks warming than e16 ortons, from what mattel has stated rock replaced alex riley and orton was going to be the 2 per case and 3 per revision case. So 1 elite set of rocks warming or 2 elite sets (e12 & e16, not to mention if we included basics in this tally) of orton warming, Ill go with the rock because he is more likely to sell if a store had a sale on figures and his figures sales tend to go up for a bit when he makes an appearance on TV, at least in my area.
