Im wanting to get my wife some Batman collections for Christmas. What would be your suggestions? These are the ones I was thinking of:
Batman: Year One The Killing Joke Long Halloween Dark Knight Returns The Man Who Laughs
Any other suggestions? Are these good ones to get?

you can't go wrong with the titles on your list already, I would recommend the new 52 Batman series by Scott Synder, its pretty good, and the current arc has the Joker in it.
If its up to your taste go back and pick up Black Mirror also by Scott Synder.
I would also recommend the entire Grant Morrison Batman run

How long are the titles already mentioned? I really wanna start reading year one, the killing joke and so on, but I wanted to make sure they were pretty lengthy first.

The Killing Joke is a quick read. Year One is of good length.
I also cannot recommend Hush enough. Easily my favorite Batman story.

Try jumping in on some of the new titles. Batman by Scott Snyder is a consistently good read. Also, and I can't stress enough that you can skip issues 1-9, Batman the Dark Knight is good, but really only starting with issue 10 and up when Gregg Hurrwitz takes over. Hurrwitz brings good writing to the table that was missing in volume 1 and volume 2 issues 1-9. Hurrwitz is a mystery/suspense novelist (who I had admittedly never read), so he understands the snap of pacing required in this 'thriller-esque' treatment of the Dark Knight. It's been pretty f-ed up, and the zero issue is fantastic.

Hush Court of Owls Batman Earth One (Another good batman origin story) Dark Knight Returns. I myself hated it, but many members on here love it to death so I think it'd be good to try it out. It even has Superman vs Batman

I would go with some of the new titles of batman, they are pretty good, but if you are looking at older batman i would go with
Batman: Knightfall Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight 1-16 (Shaman, Gothic, Prey, Venom) Batman: Hush Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
