With the acquisition of the Crash Cage, I'll have...all of the playsets (I think). It's not exactly "customizing," it's just...fixing something Mattel foolishly omitted. I've done it a couple of times now, and it turns out pretty good.

Anyone know if these are worth anything? Somewhere packed away Ive got both the Bigfoot and Snake Bite and would love to re-add them back to my collection. Ive also got an Original Bigfoot from like the 80s somewhere but I doubt its in good shape.

He is a Hot Wheels expert who has written several books on them. He might know something about them. www.mikezarnock.com/Anyway Bigfoot is no longer competing in Monster Jam due to a dispute with Feld Motorsports and we will never see any Hot Wheels Bigfoot trucks in the future

Those trucks RULED. I have Snake Bite somewhere (I broke the tongue off because, well, I like my vehicles to be realistic).
Which "sliming" playset are you talking about? I hadn't heard of something like that.

I hadn't heard of something like that. It's one of the older ones where you would crash into the motorhome it's called the Slime Arena

I don't, but after looking for it on GIS, I gotta say, it's pretty cool!

Hmm...that looks suspiciously like the Fanta truck that resides in front of Digger's Dungeon nowadays... EDIT: nevermind, that particular truck has a different-style body, there goes my conspiracy. I DO have a fact rattling in my head, though: the Blue Thunder chassis is still in use to advertise radio personalities at certain Monster Jam events.

I picked up Martial Law at Advance Auto Parts today. Great truck came with the freestyle card which is ok but I would have preferred if they gave you a card with the actual truck on it. Here's a pic of the real Martial Law and I'm impressed that the Ford Bodystyle is surprisingly accurate since Mattel never updates their castings

The Northern Nightmare that comes with the Triple Launch Arena has "2012 Freestyle Champion) on the top, I was pretty surprised that they'd gotten that whipped together so quickly. In terms of retooling, they've improved in the past couple of years with the GD The Legend, Sun-Uva Digger, and HW Firestorm bodies. Oh, and my favorite truck body ever, CRUSHSTATION~! ...sorry, I'm going to say that as many times as I can in this thread.

Got the Crash Cage in today, it's pretty neat!...except it doesn't quite work the way it's supposed to. The Digger that came with it is cool, though, I don't believe I had one that says "3 time champion" on the roof (other than the regular-sized vehicle in the Duos line) until I picked this particular playset up. I have it sittin' up with red acrylic paint in the indentations where the headlights should go for now, it's gonna look awesome when it's dry!
Sooo I may be going to TRU tomorrow...are there any new sets out that I should know about?

I'm a little weirded out by Mattel being able to produce Marvel-based trucks, didn't even hit me until a couple of weeks ago (when I wondered why Supes and Batman were still in production).

That's not a problem since the Superhero themed trucks are owned by Feld Motorsports who owns USHRA and Monster Jam
