If you've never been in an actual ring and taken a bump, then you should have no input on what canvas to use. Coming from someone who's been on the other side of the ropes, its not some mattress like people would have you believe.

You're on a roll man. First it was Shawn's back, Flair and wanting a harder ring canvas. I can't wait for your next insightful post.

What a stupid idea.
It's not bad enough taking bumps 300+ days a year but you want them to do it in a harder ring so they can have worse injuries?
What a moronic thought.

The ring is not miced as it used to be, because wrestlers shout the next moves quite often.

I don't know what sort of boring as shoot interviews you watch but in approximately 0 shoot interviews that I've watched have they ever brought up how hard the canvas is. Failing that, it's ing stupid to have a rock hard canvas in this day and age when these guys are working 200-300 dates a year. If you want wrestlers killing themselves and falling into painkiller addiction that's your prerogative. I'll stick to knowing the superstars I like being will be able to move around/be alive when they reach their 40's. Oh right...you've seen every shoot out of the 1000s out there have you? "Killing themselves"...really? Good God, hey Flair is still around in his 60s and many ..many others who worked harder than anyone when the the rings were tougher. I think you my friend are the biggest drama queen ive heard. You think they are addicted to painkillers through a tough canvas? really? Heres a fun fact for you Mr.Drama Queen....many people who take painkillers arent in any pain at all, they take them for the sedation effects to numb emotional pain. Did you not catch that either in all those shoot interviews you watch? Funny enough that guy in my sig said the same thing...when he stopped taking them he wasnt in any pain at all lol, infact he said to roaddogg in said interview about that drug Michael Jackson OD'd on "why didnt we try that?" that gives you an insight right there. IT WAS JUST ANOTHER DRUG TO INDULGE IN. Not saying many of the wrestlers didnt take them for physical pain, sure but to blame a canvas on a pain killer addiction? really? Go work construction for a week 12 hours a day slave labor on minimum wage...you will know what aches and pains are. Speaking of shoot interviews go check out Nigel McGuiness on Art of Wrestling, he went to a doctor or a chiropractor, anyways they ran a couple of tests and found out that each bump a wrestler takes is equal to being a car accident at 20-30mph...wrestlers may have taken pills to get high but they get introduced to them through the injuries they take in the ring. Everyone here is entitled to their opinions, however in this case you are wrong. Change your perspective on what you expect out of wrestling. If you want so much legitimacy go to your local high school and watch their wrestling team, or go watch UFC. If you want to see men just killing themselves in a predetermined sport go watch CZW, IWA, BREAKING BAD , or Japanse wrestling. Till then you lose sir.

NO, NEVER. IT CAUSES TOO MUCH INJURIES AND HURTS WAY WORSE.
I'm pretty sure landing on three layers of mats hurts enough for the wrestlers as we see on TV today. I don't think bringing back the harder mats like what they had back in 1998 would be a good idea.

This whole thread is nonsense. You've clearly never been in a ring legitimately. This whole discussion is nonsense. It just shows you're an unappreciative spectator who has unrealistic expectations. Also to the two idiots who have Easy E in your sigs - You're not true fans. You're no more educated than the slobbering violence mongrels of Ancient Rome when you speak that way. You artless, inbred, swine faced, bastard son, hooligans! Wow thanks and for your info I am a real fan, Im a super oldschool smark with favorites such as Flair, Sheik, and Funk so don't call me a non real fan because that considerable offends me. Wrestlers sign up to entertain, personally I don't care about harder ring canvas but people who bitch and moan about head chair shots? Its one of the biggest parts of a hardcore match. Its not called hardcore so you can beat eachother with foam swords. The biggest part of wrestling is it's amazing moments and risks that they take. They take them to entertains the fans, not because they want to hurt themselves. You guys need to stop acting like such wussys about dangerous things, thats one of the risks you take to be a wrestler.

I agree but when I get to WWE my Chubby Slam will look just as bad ass on any ring mat. I wish I could get my hands on one of the Hardy's.

There so damn dangerous and unnecessary.

I'm gonna have an entrance that has the stage turn into a forest then a big growl and I come out of the stage hole that looks like a cave all sleepy and pissed off like I'm ready to kill Cody Rhodes. Also thinking about having a segment called Chubby's Pit, like Piper's Pit but the ring will be designed as a big armpit.

No of course he didn't what I am trying to say is that wrestlers are not pussies they prepare for the crap they do in the ring and ready for the aftermath of it. Chris Jericho had lumps all over his back and a extremely numb face after his extreme rules match with Punk, but I didn't see any of you guys scared of that crap. They're not breaking each others necks woth piledrivers. Wrestlers depend on each other to keep themsleves safe in matchs, if you can't stop a concussion from happening in a hardcore match then the wrestlers are doing it wrong. People used to do this all the time and nobody cared, so why does everybody crawl on their panic room when the almighty chair shot of death is mentioned. You guys defending againist hardcore wrestling is as intellectually- disabled as defending Chris Benoit for his murder-suicide.

It has nothing to do with the "Canvas" it's the frame and wood underneath it. I have wrestled and took bumps on a harder ring then WWE has I will say you're a complete jackass if you want someone to get hurt just because you liked the sound better. Until you have taken a bump I don't want to hear that they should quit crying about getting hurt. If you expect us to wrestle day in and day out we need to take some safety measures. You don't see a boxer fighting everyday, you're lucky if it's once a year that you see your favorite fighter in a ring.

Heres what I am trying to say THEY SIGN UP FOR THIS crap they know what it takes Yes, and it doesn't take chairshots to the head anymore. Wrestling companies of worth don't use them anymore, and only morons want to see them.
