So... backstory first. Three things.
1. On Cyber Monday, I ordered the mystery Elite figure from Ringside. I did this to offset the cost of the Flashback Macho Man and shipping... figuring that this would make it worth it. I figured the figure would be an Orton, Mysterio, Cena, Rock, or possibly R-Truth.. but seeing as how I don't have an Elite Orton, Mysterio, or Truth, it wouldn't be a horrible deal. I also like both of the two most recent Cenas (E17 and E15).. so either of them would have been cool too. I figured if I got an Elite Rock, I'd just trade it on here or eBay it.
2. I recently moved to another city in my area (Virginia Beach), and my house is like an hour and ten minute drive from my dad's (which is where my mailing address was last time I updated it on Ringside's account.. because I didn't trust the mailman at my last apartment). I entered my new address in the "ship to" part on my Ringside order (at least I thought I did, I might have screwed up), but somehow the order ended up at my dad's house.
3. I play in a cover band for a living. This means that every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and many Thursdays and Sundays, I'm performing. Sometimes festivals.. colleges, corporate events.... occasionally opening for national acts.. but largely in bars and nightclubs. My dad comes out to one or so show a week, and he came out tonight (Friday) to the place we were playing (Wild Wing Cafe, if you have one of those near you). He brought my package, as I wanted to put Savage with my other figures, and see what my mystery figure was.
So.. after setting everything up, I had a few minutes, so I went out to my van and checked the mystery figure. Sure enough... it was an E16 Rock.. the only figure I had no use for. I figured oh well.... still a good purchase. While I was doing that, my dad mentioned to one of my band mates that I had a package with some wrestling figures (they all know I collect).. so they heckled me lightheartedly about it on our first break. I laughed with em.. and said I'd put Rock on eBay or whatever... and if nothing else, I could get 17 bucks for it at Walmart.... when out of nowhere, this chick goes "I'll give you 8 bucks for it". I laugh.. and she's like.. "no, I'm serious.. 9.... 10. 10 dollars even". Ten bucks cash? Sure.. why not (partially because of the ridiculousness of selling a wrestling figure, at a bar, while I'm there "at work" with my band). She gives me the money, I give her the figure... she says she's gonna try putting it on eBay herself.
Kinda crazy really.. just thought I'd share how my Cyber Monday Ringside purchase ended up!
