I have a lot of good experiences.
Me and my mate went to see monsters vs aliens... It was two 17 year olds in a huge crowd of either kids or mothers, my mate managed to make a nice friend in some lady sat next to him.
Sitting in an empty cinema watching lord of the rings (think it was rotk).
Going to see spiderman and shrek back to back with a mate, I had a pack of polos that never ended and we had to run home in the rain.
Traveling from one cinema that wasn't showing the Simpsons movie to one that did with 3 mates was fun, nice sunny day too. Some bloke trip over on the steps right next to me and dropped his popcorn, was really funny but i felt bad for him too.
Going to see tropic thunder, needing I.d. Travelling back to get the i.d. (from 3 different houses) and then going back only to be served by someone who didn't ask for I.d.... I showed it anyway.
Going to see lord of the ring two towers with my dad. Just a lot of funny jokes we made, really clicked that night.
There's more but I cant think of them now.

I'd also like to mention all the times I went to a local theater (out of business now) that used to have classic movie viewings..
I used this as date material every month and it was awesome
Gone With the Wind on the big screen is amazing!
I also fulfilled my life long goal of watching Lawrence of Arabia on the big screen as well at this place.. I will never forget it

Seeing Mortal Kombat 1994 with my older brother....it was awesome. I know what you mean. When the opening music hit in the theater...holy crap. Good times. Other than that: The first t-rex scene in Jurassic Park, and the pencil scene in The Dark Knight.

Seeing TDKR at midnight. Especially because they showed Batman Begins and TDK right before.

Seeing The Expendables II the day after it came out. Hearing everyone else cheer during the action scenes really upped the experience. Especially at the beginning and at the end in the airport shootout when Arnie, Bruce and Chuck Norris joined in.

Seeing the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, my ex-girlfriend and I, with just one other couple, at the Music Box Theater in Chicago. I'll never forget that.
Seeing the Dark Knight Trilogy. Back to back to back. That was the way to see that movie. Perfect.

Definitely The Dark Knight Rises. I went on opening day during the day when most people in my town were in school or at work. There were around 7-8 of us at the time I went and we all talked before the movie about the previous ones and how we were all looking forward to this one. It was quiet during the movie and at the end everyone had the same reaction of "Man, what a movie." We sat in there for another few minutes after the movie and talked about the end of the trilogy.

Seeing Inglorious Basterds on opening day with my brother and cousin. It was just such a fun time, and it became my favorite movie and still is
Seeing TDKR at the AMC theatre in downtown Disney. I was so pumped for that movie, anticipated it since TDK ended. Plus, seeing it in such a beautiful theatre added to the experience.

Grindhouse. Without a doubt. My friends and I went a week or so after it was released and somehow ended up going on a night that a bunch of die-hard Tarantino fans showed up. There were only about twenty of us in the theater, but the camaraderie was fantastic. Everyone had a blast.
One guy in the back kept shouting the most ridiculous things out of pure shock and enjoyment. Normally something like that would drive me crazy, but the situation was just too perfect. It made the experience that much better.
Cloverfield on opening night, The Dark Knight Rises on opening night in IMAX, and Paranormal Activity were also pretty great.

Seeing the Dark Knight Trilogy. Back to back to back. That was the way to see that movie. Perfect. Exactly. Such a great experience. Watching the whole series in the movie theater was amazing. Loved The Dark Knight Rises. Other than that, there was a midnight showing of something...I think it was a Lord of the Rings or Pirates movie. But it was great because almost everyone from my high school was there. Surprisingly well behaved.

I will never forget seeing the First Pokemon Movie in theaters. We went to BK beforehand and they had Pokemon stuff at the time. You got a toy and cards. Awesomeness. Then we went to the movie and it blew my little 5 or 6 year old mind.
The 2nd Pokemon Movie was a completely different story. We had to drive and hour away to see it because the local theater didnt have it. This theater was huge and we had to sit at the top and I got sick. Then we had to drive all the way home. I got that shiny Mew card though so that was cool.

The Dark Knight premiere. Amazing. We had horrible seats next to each other, my 2 buddies and me were so packed into the seats we really couldnt enjoy the movie much, but it was such an awesome movie and night. We kid about how crappy our seats were all the time, but Im sure none of us regret it.

HP: The Deathly Hallows on opening night was really cool. Everyone in the theater was crying when Snape died.

Any time the people in attendance are really excited (and not just there to see a movie) is a good one.
I go to a lot of classic movies at a theatre nearby, and most of them have that sort of vibe. The one that always jumps out most as good crowds go was Flash Gordon. People cheered the cast during the opening credits, and Booed Ming (one person even hissed). Through the movie the cheering, laughing, etc. was all int he right places. It was an incredibly fun experience. Other movies that were great there were The Muppet Movie (especially when a mom told the kid not to leave during the credits so they wouldn't miss Animal), Ghostbusters, Big Trouble in Little China, and the double feature of Creature from the Black Lagoon and Bride of Frankenstein... There are a lot more of those, but I can't name them all.
A neat experience seeing a contemporary film was Rocky Balboa. We went on Christmas Day and my friend and I were completely engrossed in the film. So much so that we barely noticed when a fight happened at the back of the cinema. Well, I barely noticed, he didn't notice at all. And we got free tickets out of the deal, so that was awesome.
Of course, seeing anything in a midnight showing is good. I saw one of the Harry Potter films that way and it was really fun. Also, when the first Transformers movie came out, there was a guy who came dressed as Optimus Prime.
Also, going back to childhood seeing Jurassic Park and The Crow (which was my first R rated film) were both great. And the early 90s Disney classics were fun too.
Lastly, I got to see Lawrence of Arabia a couple of months ago. Simply Stunning. I already loved that movie, but it is one that really needs to be seen on the big screen.

I can't go to the movies anymore. I just simply can't sit in a theater with other people who don't have any courtesy for others around them. People talk, people are on their phones and the light from their phone is distracting, people are chewing and rustling bags of food and other things.....I just can't take it. I used to love going to the movies too, but rude people have just completely ruined the experience for me. I settle for waiting for the film to come out on Blu-Ray. I feel you on that one. Chewing loudly is one of my biggest pet peeves. I still go to the theater quite often, but I do get quite annoyed nearly every time I do. The Pulp Fiction crowd was fantastic though. No one was talking, I didn't see a single cellphone screen, everyone was so immersed in the film. I used to have this problem as the closest theatre wasnt in the best location so there would be alot of gangs that would hangout there. About a year or so ago though a new theatre opened it's about a 25 min drive but it's soo worth it, it's a smaller theatre with a older crowd and it's just such a chill vibe. I love it. plus I get the student discount because I attend the local community college. ;D
