Everyone's been reading about these "old superstars coming back" rumors, and its just been released that Shelton Benjamin has left ROH. How do you guys feel about this? Are you happy for Shelton to be back? Personally I always loved him as an in ring performer, but hated him as a talker/character. The man's promos were awful. If they get him a decent manager, I'd love to see him come back and possibly fight Punk for the title somewhere along the way

He doesn't have the blonde hair any more, anyway.

Hope he can still go, I saw some of his ROH stuff about a year back and can't say I was too impressed.

He lost the blonde hair as soon as he left wwe. I'd be glad to see him back. He was a consistent mid card guy.

He's pretty much the perfect veteran type of guy to come in and work with young guys and put them over. He was the first guy I thought about when we read that rumor. He's a great athlete and can work with pretty much anyone and he isn't going to be a guy we say coulda, woulda, shoulda about because we know his limitations on the mic and about his failed efforts to connect with the audience beyond an athletic standpoint. In other words, he isn't a total package guy like MVP imo where you sort of wonder about how it would have worked out had he been put in the right situation.

That was the 13th, he asked for his release from RoH after the PPV last Sunday so I'm guessing he was either fibbing or the call came in between the tweet and Sunday.

- Shelton Benjamin has asked for and received his release from Ring of Honor. According to reports, this is so that he could negotiate and potentially leave for WWE. For now, Benjamin may continue to appear for the promotion, but he is working on a per appearance deal.
Benjamin has been rumored to be returning to WWE ever since reports surfaced that the promotion was looking to bring back mid-card talent to solidify the current roster.
Needless to say, I used to be all for this. But after his ROH run, I feel like he doesn't even want ti try anymore.

I would punch a kitten in the face if it meant Shelton would come back! Don't know why that would be his determining factor, but I'm putting it out there just in case.

He's somebody who needs to be in the main event. His work in the ring far outweigh his promo abilities.

How about a reunion of the Minnesota Wrecking Crew of Brock Lesnar and Shelton Benjamin ? But on a serious note I love the idea of Benjamin coming back to the WWE.Ideally he would be used in the mid-card and as a tag team wrestler along side a returning MVP.I just hope that one he returns he's not just used as a jobber to get the young guys over and that he get a push and has some more runs as a WWE Tag Team/IC/US champion.Even at the age of 37 or 38 he can still go he just got a bit lazy in ROH.

He's somebody who needs to be in the main event. His work in the ring far outweigh his promo abilities. If WWE was more like ROH, or TNA even, and this was 2007, I could see where you are coming from. However, it's 2012, he isn't as fantastic in the ring anymore and there are a million other guys waiting in line. If SB even had Jeff Hardy "it factor" I think he would have won a world title, but he doesn't and he didn't. If you want to give a super athletic guy like that with upside a shove into the main event it should be Kofi Kingston imo. The one time they took a risk on Kofi I think it worked. Had Orton not thrown a ing temper tantrum over such a small thing then Kofi might actually be a top guy right now. That's coming from someone who doesn't think Kofi's top guy material.

I miss his springboard maneuvers, solid technical performance and absolutely lacking mic skills...
